As far as phonemes go it would be /æ/. I'm still in that liminal space that phone/me thing right and sometimes not.

I've got a feeling (though my tongue's still not very experienced) that my Cockney [ɛ] (thAnks) is slightly more closed than my native Estuary [ɛ] (gEt).
It was about time I changed this.
