That's unusual for a boyfriend for yous to see each other only once a month.

What nonsense! So many people have their best friends and boyfriends/girlfriends being the same people.
They probably haven't found the best person for them.
*1) In some regional / colloquial lects Mensch as accusative is possible, but not in the literary standard.

One can say everything to a best friend, but not to a partner
In German, etwas gegen jemand sagen = "to speak not in someone's favour" or "to object against someone". Duits is niet Nederlands! ;-)

Feel up! Winter is over!

Also, every new day you can feel a different way. Just let slumber take away your worries.

Leider! :)
Unfortunately

(So "gegen" here would be more or less be the same as English "against"?)

Danke.

It graupelled here today.

I thought it was hail, but without a storm ... and also soft enough that people didn't have to take cover from it.

Hail, real hail is something I know very well too. In the meantime, I've learned about snow, freezing rain and, as of today, graupel.

I was confused when I saw people on the street while it seemed to be hailing. If it hailed like that, there would have been injuries. Hail wouldn't sit on the cars either, as you can see in the above picture. It would instead bounce off, leaving dents behind.

I'm in shock. This landslide was so big, and many people are missing.
