As for the new thing: is the / a pharyngeal consonant? Because using that for pharyngeals is common practice in Cushitic languages, though this particular language does not look Cushitic it may be a language from that region.

Apparently, it has a pharyngeal fricative. And that is how it is represented. And it is Nilo Saharan from Sudan and South Sudan near another country.
