Now, somehow I suspect you are not allowed to give more than one answer at a time...

Is this sample too hard to guess? If yes, I'll post a new sample, but that's on you.

Participation seems to have been tapering for some time, so it's hard to say whether that's the issue or whether your sample was too tough a nut for any of us to crack. Either way, yes, please, do post something more! Either more of the same language, or something new would suit me.

This one stumped me early the first time around, and I'm afraid more text doesn't help me overcome that ;) I hope someone with more PNG know-how can figure it out -- but if not, I'd like it if you eventually shared the answer and posed another one for us!

This seems to be too hard.

Anyway, the language was Sudest.

Yes, it is spoken in Africa, yes, it is in the same language family as Hausa, but no, it's not Hausa.

Opipik, you are breaking our heads AGAIN! :)

I can't do any better than 'from somewhere in West Africa' at the moment -- no access to my hoard of linguo-stuff.

Is it a Biu-Mandara-language, say Buwal?

Edit: Just looked it up more closely, it is probalby not Buwal as labio-velars apparently are very rare in Buwal, but I am not going to suggest something else because I have already spent way too much time on this.
Edit (again): Turns out it might be Buwal anyway. The orthography seems to mostly match and the only case of labio-velars in the sample is the word mgbɑ, which means something along the lines of "up" in Buwal.

[looking up Buwal online]

[noting to look it up in actual sources later]

[demonstrating why this thread is worthwhile]

[still at a loss to what language this text sample is in]

[horrified in a weird way at how I typed that insanely Germanic previous sentence, while not being humanly fluent in any such language]

[shutting up now]

I didn't expect that.
