Wait, you think butts are ugly? Hand me your queer card. Now!

Native language/Mother tongue: American English
Ancestral languages: German (Austro-Bavarian, Palatinate, possibly Westphalian), Irish (probably Cork dialect), English (Northern)

Dad claims that his grandmother spoke both German and Yiddish which seems rather unlikely to me.

I doubt the truth value of that.
Yes, you and your girlfriend are related (hopefully, very distantly). All living humans are related, however distantly. All life on Earth is familially related (i.e. descended from a common ancestor).

This is not Adam and Eveism; it is an inescapable corollary of evolutionism.

It's true. You're fucking your cousin.
I know, but I hoped that the gap was over 1.5k years :(
Wait, how the hell could I be related to Charlemagne when my whole tree comes from the farthest northeast of Europe :o

My L1 is English, as is my "heritage" language (me being English, and all). I've had French around me to some extent since I was four, though. I can read it but can't really speak it very well, now.

Might be, at least. Not sure where my paternal greatgrandparents came from - been dead since the seventies. Records lead me to believe they're from Uuniemi (hence my desire to learn North Sami), but I'm not sure. They might have been splendid lying bastards.

What about the rest of your great-grandparents? Basques, Romanies, Tatars, Chechens?

I'm far from being able to do that. :(

If I had Basque/Roma friends again, I'd ask them for help.

You know, the board needs a Gay Flirting thread to keep this all in one spot.
