By laughing at them and/or calling them Richard, the nonhypocoristic version. :p

Here we also have "Rick" (predominately gay) and "Rich" (unmarked). I do know one Richard who goes by "Dick" but he must be pushing 70.

[Side note: An obsolete hypocoristic of "Richard" is "Hick", which also yielded a pejorative.]

BTW, we also have people in our culture named "Fanny", "Dong", "Phuc", "Randy", "Willy", and "John". I don't know how we manage to get through each day without sniggering constantly, but it might have something to do with most of us being above the age of 11.

Rick is gay? Isn't that the TWD protagonist's name?

I can assure you that we snigger every time at those names. Except at John, because that doesn't mean here what it means there.

For whatever reason, Dutch and French speakers thought it would be a great idea to adopt the name Fanny (about a century ago, maybe).

There's a friend of a friend who often comments on my friend's Facebook comments, who's called Fanny Paradis. Makes me laugh every time I see it.

So a fanny gets put into a fanny when Dutch/French speakers have heterosexual sex with someone from England, or homosexual sex with an American.

However you look at it, fannies never have protrusions, so I'm not sure how you 'put them in' anything.

Oh, I thought you meant they adopted the word as slang for "penis" rather than as a woman’s name. Too bad for my pun, then.
