Das Merkwürdige ist, dass dieser Typ denselben Namen hat wie mein Ex, obwohl es ein englischer Name ist. Der Typ kommt aus Kolumbien und in meiner Karriere als ESL-Lehrer bin ich Hunderten von Kolumbianern begegnet und keiner von denen hatte diesen Namen. Zum Glück gibt es zwei Schreibvarianten und dieser Typ und mein Ex schreiben ihren Namen anders. Trotzdem finde ich es total komisch, seinen Namen zu sagen.
The weird thing is that he has the same name as my ex even though it's an English name. This guy comes from Colombia and in my career as an ESL-teacher, I've met hundreds of Colombian guys and none of them had this name. Luckily it has two accepted spellings and this guy and my ex write their names differently. Still, I find it really weird saying his name.

I can't speak for Spanish, but from what I understand dangling modals likely aren't allowed for any given language.

Creo que se puede así, aunque "debe" suena un poco raro aquí. Y quizá no hace falta decir "probablemente".
I think you can do it like that, though "debe" sounds a bit weird. And maybe you don't need to say "probablemente".

I would say "esto me hace más feliz que debería."

debe corresponds more to "must" and debería, to should.

Yeah, you can. Like this, though:
"Esto me hace más feliz de lo que probablemente debiera/debiese/debería/debe"

with alternative verbal tenses in decreasing order of natural-soundingness [that debiera is fossilized].

Other example of dangling modals that are not so readily translatable:

"His work is better than yours ever will."
Su trabajo es mejor de lo que el tuyo lo será jamás. [uses 'ser' again]
"He works better than you ever will."
Trabaja mejor de lo que tú lo harás jamás. [dummy 'hacer']
"She cooks like you never will."
Cocina como tú nunca lo harás [dummy 'hacer' again]

For most other auxiliaries you can use the corresponding tense of hacer: did - hiciste, would - harías, ... but deber has its own personality and so you can actually leave it like that.

I think it might have something to do with the copula, actually: "My dog loves me more that yours ever will" sounds right, but not "Timmy is cuter than Sally ever will."
