Cultural Rhymes

Post by langover94 »

All cultures seem to have their share of nursery rhymes, or just traditional sayings in general. I can't think of one that is distinctly American at the moment, but here's a song from Spain that I think is pretty funny:

Yo Tengo Un Moco

Yo tengo un moco
Lo saco poco a poco
Lo redondeo
Lo miro con deseo
Yo me lo como
Y como me sabe a poco
Volvemos a empezar!

English:

I have a booger

I have a booger
I pull it out little by little
I roll it up
I look at it with desire
I eat it
And as it hasn't much taste
We start over again!

What are some traditional rhymes or songs from your culture? (They don't have to be funny).
"Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light."

From Costa Rica:

Its not my culture, but its my favorite place in the world. I visited there with a school trip, and we visited a primary school. I had the best time of my life.
