Another what does this say

But hey, this time it's not cursive!
I really like this lamp in this picture and I'd like to find out more about it. This is the best photo available and at the base I noticed it had an inscription on it. I've been trying for about an hour Googling random letters like NQOREG NQOREGI, etc. but to no avail. All I know is the last letter isn't a K even though it looks like it because of the flower detailing. Do you have any idea what this says?
Highest resolution:
An attempt at sharpening, etc to make it more readable:
Thanks!

I thought that too but there seems to be an addition letter between the o and the r, like another o so like Nooreg, but that makes no sense. It must be something logical and sensible like the artist's name or the name of the character portrayed in the sculpture.

The last letter is an <N>, Vik
Edit: And the first word's last letter appears to be <N>
Edit 2: <NOON RGN> ??

I only see 6 characters, perhaps 6.5 if the last is a short character like an I. I don't see how the last letter is an N, it looks like one vertical line then the flower design overlaps. I would say NOOREGI or NQOREGI are the best approximate but no sense can be made of that.

Right, sorry. By drawing over the picture with MSPaint, the mystery is solved. The answer is clearly "NOONRGN". What ever would we do without you, Darkgamma?

But, seriously enough, what could it be?
EDIT: Vik, have you even googled the picture?

It can't be Noonrgn because the word doesn't cross over the flower detail at the end!
There is not much known about the photo. It's the house of Maxwell M. Fisher in Detroit. It's one of many no longer existing mansions. There are no other good pictures and no information on the house let alone the contents inside. Detroit had hundreds of mansions like this one but destroyed them all without leaving much of any trace of their existence.

Have you considered that it was done like the Romans did it, like, sans space?
Noonrgn => Noon RGN

I don't think you're understanding what Viki said.

Yes, I understood him, and have chosen to ignore it since it's far more likely the contrary happened (the shape over the flowering resembles <N> far too closely)

Does anyone know any Roman goddesses or gods or famous heroins with a similar name? It might be that the name is the name of that character. I know I've seen that dress before in Hannibal the opera or something.

Could you provide us with a full body shot? Not just the legs?

Do those letters at all relate to Ares?
