Phenomena in my variety of Swedish

Post by Shrdlu »

There's an feature in my variety of Swedish that I would like to know more about: Is is it really that uncommon as I think it is? In the variety of Swedish I speak, some of the determiners(well most) are declined according to whenever they end a sentence or not.

example:
Den I jär(There I am).
but...
I jär denna(I am there).

I have a theory that this is the same as with long vowels in Maori and the waves on Hawaii. In this case, that when in a hailstorm it is good to know when the other one intends to shut up.........
If I stop posting out of the blue it probably is because my computer and the board won't cooperate and let me log in.!
