Language Learning Experiment (Volunteers Needed!)

Post by Terra »

I want to run an experiment that's about learning/remembering a language. Thus, I need volunteers. It should take only 10 minutes at most, and the only things that you'll need are a computer that can play .ppt files, a pen, paper, and a good memory.

Also, there is a small twist that I won't reveal until the end. Some of you may know what the twist is from the last time I tried to run this experiment (which failed for numerous reasons, some of which I've fixed this time), but please don't talk about it until the experiment is finished. Also, knowing the twist doesn't disqualify you from volunteering, so feel free to do so.

So, who's interested?

If it's just a few minutes, I'll give it a go, too.

Yeah, sure. Assuming it can be done at my convenience, not at a specified time.

1) I thank everyone that's volunteered.
2) I've decided to make some changes to the experiment because of some feedback, so it'll take some time to implement them.
3) I've been ill today and yesterday, and haven't-felt/don't-feel up to doing anything except sleeping. Hopefully I feel better tomorrow.

I held off making this thread until I had everything set up, but I didn't anticipate the changes or getting ill. *sigh* I thank you for your patience, and ask for a bit more.

Sure, sounds like fun. If possible, you might want to convert it to PDF for compatibility.

I'm in, although I'm not sure whether LibreOffice 4 can open .ppt files.

I can't do that. Some slides have time-limits, which are an important.

I thought about making a website instead of using powerpoint, but that would've been alot more work, and I didn't want to wait 1-2 months or whatever it would take me to make the website. Maybe someday I'll make a website for it. I admit that a website would make this a bit easier for everybody involved.

No... I'll send you a PM with the link. I'll tell you why after the experiment is done.

So, it's Wensday, and I'm finally feeling like 90% of my normal self. Somehow, I went this whole winter without getting sick, but then got sick in the middle of sunny May. *sigh*. I'll try to get stuff going shortly.

Well, I don't *need* them, but I'll still gladly take them. There's no way that I can have too many, really. So if you're reading this and want to volunteer, please do!

I usually just lurk here. That said, I am game for your experiment if you still are.
