World Phonotactics Database

Post by Vardelm »

Has anyone seen the World Phonotactics Database?

I happened to come across it today. It's similar to WALS in that it can be used to search & map languages for a set of features. The difference from WALS is that it's only for phonotactics and doesn't have the chapters explaining each feature in detail. I'm already finding it useful for finding natlangs that have a specific set of phonological features so I have something to compare against for a conlang.

Thought I'd post it here since it seems pretty nifty and I didn't find it with a search of the ZBB forum.

I am horribly uncreative when it comes to phonotactics, so this will be invaluable. Thanks for sharing. :D

What ship would bear me ever back across so wide a Sea?”
