The Contradictory Feelings Thread

Post by Izambri »

Because life isn't lived in black-and-white.
Because more often than not we experience contradictory feelings.
Because the "Happy things thread" and "Venting thread" aren't enough...
  • I say it here.

I finished A Dance with Dragons!!!...

...and now I must wait 5 years (at least) to read the following book, The Winds of Winter.

Thank you, George.

I hate everything about myself but I'm really happy I'm the way I am. Yay contradictions.

I just sent birthday greetings to someone who's been completely ignoring me all year. What kind of response was I hoping for anyway?

Everything I have in my life is genuine and I love it, but I kind of wish I had more exposure with stuff which was completely superficial, just so I could go ok, did that, now to move on to the genuine.

Hey Viktor, you're among pals here. You can come right out and say, "Sometimes I'd really like to fuck other people."

I was reading this book called the Male Couples Guide and there was a sizable chapter about monogamy/nonmonogamy. It kind of shocked me so many couples were comfortable with that. I'm not sure I am, but my partner has given me the option if I ever wanted to take it. I know I couldn't, but I could take the option of a three way. Still not super comfortable but I'm not alone in this little conflict, which is good. This seems to be pretty common among gay couples, at least according to that book.

Do you actually know any real-life gay people? Where have you been hiding that you don't realize that guys like to have sex with lots of people?

Monogamous gay couples do exist, too, y'know.

Well, as for contradictory feelings... I'm not all that comfortable with non-monogamy either. And I say this as someone who has advocated against automatically having monogamy expectations in relationships and who has been living for the last seven years in a relationship that, by agreement, explicitly does not involve a monogamy contract. Perhaps illogically, but with reasoning behind it, I suggested this partly for the purpose of making sure there'd be no restriction to chafe under and thus hopefully improve the chances of actual monogamy. But the day may come when I will have outwitted myself there. Am I prepared to cope with that? I have no idea.

that is awful because if either of you breaks... excuse me, fails to break the contract, then since nobody has gone against any agreements, nobody has done wrong. except they have. but they haven't, so there is nothing to repent for. but there is.

i don't think irony works very well as a basis for contracts.

I like coffee, but not too much of it. I like coffee, but not too much of it. I don't like coffee now, yet I like it.
It was about time I changed this.

All the language courses I want to take this year means I'll have 48 hours at uni in total per week, and yet I'm still considering adding other courses.

And Torco, I outmanliness you re coffee. I drink it Arabic, and don't add unmanly things like milk.

I on the other hand make Torco look manly given that I add not only milk but also sugar and chocolate to my coffee.

I have found that coffee no longer wakes me up very well. I have gotten too desensitized to it over the years.

I don't drink coffee unless I sleep 0 to 5 hours. I usually have milk with nesquick (sort of cocoa) for breakfast and evening snack (merendilla).
