I don't know if any such thing has been done before, but I figured it might be fun to make some kind of searchable dictionary with multiple conlangs. You could use it to translate English words to conlangs, or the other way around. You could also type in some random sound sequence and see if it's a word in any conlangs. Kind of like Wiktionary.
If you have conlang-to-English and English-to-conlang, it's also possible to make some crude translations between conlangs. They wouldn't be very accurate of course, but it might be fun.
I think I should be able to fairly easily program it and put it on a server. What do you think?
An inter-conlang dictionary?

Sounds interesting.
I would love to see it.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

There was something called The Dick, which was a lexicon wiki for conlangs. But it seems to be gone now. :/

Uh... you mean this, in the KneeQuickie?Qwynegold wrote:There was something called The Dick, which was a lexicon wiki for conlangs. But it seems to be gone now. :/
http://www.kneequickie.com/dick/Dick:Main_Page
Neek's Proto-Deithas vocab is still there, even though the :RN Template he was originally using is completely gone and thus it looks broken. The pages for the vocab of Sano's conlangs are empty, though the structure is still there, maybe he deleted them?
Or is this just some sort of archive and it was a more specialized website before, rather than just part of the KneeQuickie? I don't know.
Re: An inter-conlang dictionary?
Well, I've made a preliminary version, which is thinking about working. Now I just need lexicon files.
For now, the format is as follows:
txt file
filename is name of language
each line consists of:
- conlang word, semicolon (no spaces)
- nearest English equivalent, semicolon (no spaces)
- proper explanation in English
everything in lowercase ascii
If you want to try it out, send me a file and I'll add it. I'll probably make some changes to the format later (pronunciation? anything else I should add?) so don't work too hard on it. If you like, you can just send a few lines as an example.
Right now the experimental program is at
http://94.255.142.184/foxicon/
and my example lexicon, the syllabic-consonant-loving Ehtrgz language, is at
http://94.255.142.184/foxicon/ehtrgz.txt
I'll move it to a server which is not my laptop later on, which should dramatically improve the uptime.

Re: An inter-conlang dictionary?
Cool program. Will there be a way at some point to put multiple words in the search-target part?
i.e.
sifo;eat,drink;to drink, to eat
