This rendition of Escuchad El Son Triunfal, the Spanish version of Hark The Herald Angels Sing. I'm trying to learn the song in both languages.

In my head:
- The Time of the Preacher (or whatever it's called), by Willie Nelson, on account of the prominent role it plays in Edge of Darkness
- the score from Edge of Darkness (by Eric Clapton and Michael Kamen)
- the score from Get Carter, on account of being reminded of it by the score from Edge of Darkness
[if you can't guess, i've recently been watching Edge of Darkness. Edge of Darkness is brilliant.]
- an assortment of annoying christmas and fifties music, due to people playing it in the shops incessantly

['Christmas' and 'fifties' seem to be becoming synonymous. Tescos the other day just had Elvis Presley's greatest hits on a continual loop. I'd never previously considered 'Viva Las Vegas' and 'Jailhouse Rock' to be christmas songs...]

But the river tripped on her by and by, lapping
as though her heart was brook: Why, why, why! Weh, O weh
I'se so silly to be flowing but I no canna stay!

Finally, I've found a song in Mandarin that doesn't make me want to gouge my eyes out at how fake it sounds/is. Even though they cut off half the song in this vid (you can tell by the fact that it sounds like there's supposed to be more but then the video cuts off), but actually it just repeats the song from the beginning and merging the last 2 verses (or chorus, if you could consider it that)

Well, then, we need a regular "what are you listening to" thread.

Apart from the actual Mandarin, whose ugliness makes me want to gouge my eyes out by itself, I like that one. Tanks. Have this one in return.

I got bored for a bit and made a list of things I've been listening to in the last however long: Pârsi, Paśto, Djudezmo, Türkçe, Adyghebze, Lišān Didān, Français.

Calle 13 - Pa'l Norte

Una pierrrna que rrrehpiran
Veneno de serrrpiente
Por el camino del viento
Voy soplando aguarrrdiente

"El día había comenzado entusiasmado y alegre."

--¡Dice! (jajajajaja) ¡Pasapolte!

Y loh perroh no me güelan...

Another good Mandarin song:

And by good I really mean not a sappy love ballad with weird synthesizers and shit.

She's Ileana Mercedes "PG-13" Cabra Joglar, the half-sister of the two step-brothers in the Calle 13 group, who gets some lines in the songs now and then, plus doing background vocals.

She has in fact produced a single: La Pared.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsdRg1Hq73Y
The song is three minutes long, but the video was mistakenly uploaded consecutively twice on YouTube (without audio the second time).

Canta Ileana Mercedes, La Pared.)

Ahí está la pared
Que separa tu vida y la mía
Ahí está la pared
Que no deja que nos acerquemos

Esa maldita pared
Yo la voy a romper algún día
Ya lo verás, mi querer
que volverás a ser mía

No puedo mirarte
No puedo abrazarte
No puedo besarte
Ni sentirte mía
Mía nada más
Mía nada más

Esa maldita pared
Yo la voy a romper algún día
Para que no pueda más
Interrumpir nuestras vidas

No puedo mirarte
No puedo abrazarte
No puedo besarte
Ni sentirte mía
Mía nada más
Mía nada más

Esa maldita pared
Yo la voy a romper algún día
Para que no pueda más
Interrumpir nuestras vidas

Ahí está la pared

The most weird and wonderful I have ever heard. It doesn't quite beat the youtube video, that I remember about the two Inuits sing in the igloo. The video that I have sadly lost.

I've been on a bit of a Sabaton kick lately. Right now I'm on Ruina Imperii (one of the few songs of theirs I've heard in their native Swedish)
I am Ratatosk, Norse Squirrel of Strife!

Let It Go (from Frozen) in 25 languages. My youth pastor told me about it after he heard me humming the song, so I had to check it out.

See, it super irritates me that now suddenly everyone's going "Oh wow how amazing a Disney song in 25 languages", when people have been making those on Youtube for absolutely years already. But it is a good song.

Marina Maximilian Blumin - Amok baTal (actually from a poem by Leah Goldberg)

ṭene mālē kōkābīm
rēaḥ dəšēˀīm dōbēbīm
ˁāmōq baṭṭal
pōˁēm ləbābī

hinne paˁămēkā qərēbīm
hirˁīdū ribbō rəbībīm
ˁāmōq baṭṭal
pōˁēm ləbābī

A basket full of stars,
the scent of whispering grasses,
deep in the dew
my heart beats.

Your footsteps drawing near
scatter a thousand droplets,
deep in the dew
my heart beats.

'Le Jour de l'An' by La Bolduc. Not too proud, but it's such an earworm.

etc.
Le wqt est un animal aquatique nocturne.
