1: Salmoneus (Because I like the really deep dried up seabed)
2: CatDoom (islands!)
3: Torco (more islands)
4: Lyra (even more islands)

Re: CCC map voting - THRU JAN 30
Lyra (really nice shapes, plus a rare attention to negative space-- makes me want to have sea creatures or naval battles)
Torco (seems optimized for hosting many diverse cultures)
Salmoneus (looks like it would have very diverse habitats, and places for small cultures)
Pressed Bunson (similar - would be hard for a single culture to dominate)
Handsome Rob (gorgeous map; overall shape is a little blobbish, but it would work well at a very large scale)

Re: CCC map voting - THRU JAN 30
I put this in the initial post, but so people see it:
Consensus is in favor of ranked voting, which gives much more information that we'll want to provide multiple continents. Ideally, provide four or five names, in descending order of preference.
(Exact counting method is being discussed in the other thread; suffice it to say that if all the votes are 4-5 names, that eliminates some tricky weighting dilemmas.)

My vote:
Lyra
Ars Lande
Salmoneus
Handsome Rob
Torco
Also, would it be possible to contribute in later rounds even if we didn't submit an entry for a continent?

(A non-participant vote)
I applied, chiefly, one criterion: diversity of potential migration routes and contact scenarios. Well, OK, it will also depend on rivers and climates, later on... Anyway, I got this:
1) Matrix (supposing that more relief will be added)
2) Qiqqit
3) Vidurnaktis
4) Lyra
5) Torco

AND THE RESULTS ARE IN!
As discussed, I gave 5 points for your first choice, 4 for the next, then 3, 2, 1.
94 - Lyra
69 - Torco
52 - Ars Lande
34 - Salmoneus
32 - Lyhoko Leaci
31 - Catdoom
30 - Matrix
28 - Qiqqit
26 - Handsome Rob
15 - Cedh
11 - Zompist
10 - De Graute Bur
10 - Vidurnaktis
5 - Obsequious Newt
4 - Pressed Bunson
3 - Ahzoh
3 - Civil War Bugle
1 - Zju
Lyra also got the most 1st place votes— 10 to Torco's 8. (Catdoom got 3; no one else got as many.)
Roughly speaking, Lyra's continent will be Eurasia-sized; Torco's and Ars Lande's will be Africa-sized; the next bloc in bold will be Australia-sized, and the rest will be smaller islands.
Thanks to everyone who contributed a map or a vote!

Re: CCC map voting - RESULTS ARE IN
Oh lookie, I got four more votes than I thought I would. Anyway, species making isn't my forte (I'd just end up making "humans. . .but different".), but I'll see y'all in the next round.

Here's my attempt to make a world out of all of that.
I recolored all the contour maps to use Lyra's colors, and redrew the rest.
Here's a link to a much larger version.
