I might make a new conlang descended from Amqoli that has very few phonemes.
Not hard to do, since Amqoli only has around 22 (and three of those are marginal) -- ɫ > ʁ, turn voice distinction to vowel length or something, complete n > l and j > ʒ, merge /x h/, deaffricate /ts tʃ/, and that leaves /p t k q s ʃ x m l r/. Then lose /q/ and its various allophones and I'd have something like [roːs həroːhis ʃi ʃaːlɛ həːʃa mɛːklis raːʃ huːkʃu poːlim mɛha].
