Does anyone remember what the next thing to do was? I remember we had some sort of iron age thing going on.

Re: CCC - keeping track of
Given that we'd just had the drama round, a logical next step would be designing new cultures.
Re: CCC - keeping track of
I added a new culture (still under construction), and the island they live on, with a high-res map.

How do you make maps like that...clawgrip wrote:I added a new culture (still under construction), and the island they live on, with a high-res map.

Let me try and seriously answer that question. If you're not sure how to draw a map like that, I would suggest looking at Earth maps and trying to find places with geography similar to what you're looking to draw. I like to use this site for browsing physical geography. I try to identify what elements make different geography distinctive, and then try to draw my own maps with those things in mind. I start at the lowest altitude level and draw each layer up from that. Each layer will be subtly influenced by the ones below it, and it ends up almost naturally creating peaks and things like that, when you imagine where rivers are coming from and so on. Also, I should note that I use a graphics pen and tablet, which makes it easier for me to get the exact shapes I want.

It would also be helpful if all the people who have participated so far would make it clear if they want to continue or give up. Also the people who took squares but didn't develop them...do you intend to add something in the futurein, or should other people adopt and develop those cultures?
Re: CCC - keeping track of
I'm planning on using my undeveloped square for the next round... speaking of which, do we have a deadline yet?

I'm still here, I'm just not sure of what to make right now... nor am I sure of what areas are actually available right now.

You can look at the most recent map to get an idea of that.

I'm slowly working on a high-res map of all the places on Torcopea that currently have cultures. I will make it available once I have finished.

I may or may not go on. Haven't decided yet.
Re: CCC - keeping track of
On a random note, what map projection are we using for the world map?

Re: CCC - keeping track of
Truncated equirectangular.
clawgrip projected it onto a sphere here:

Note that you have to add 1.5 squares to the top and bottom of the map to make this work.

My conculture will be the Birdmen and there extremely complex language, J>iti!ksnaa. I would love to do another naming language round to make some diacritic free romanizations easy to type on an iPad.

I found a great IPA keyboard for the iPad (it costs 2 EUR or something). Makes conlanging on the iPad much much easier.Birdlang wrote:My conculture will be the Birdmen and there extremely complex language, J>iti!ksnaa. Re: CCC - keeping track of
The Zeebwiki is malfunctioning.
Re: CCC - keeping track of
It's fixed. My apologies for the downtime.
Re: CCC - keeping track of
It's likely enough that I'm the only one still interested in this, but thank you for fixing it!

ZEEBWIKI GOING AWAY!!!
I don't think anyone's using zeebwiki.org, so I'd rather save the hosting fees and server space.
The domain expires in about a month, so I'll probably take it down before then. If you have stuff there, please copy it! Clawgrip in particular has some lovely maps there.
I have backed it up, so the stuff isn't lost forever, but it'll be harder to access.

Ah,kind of disappointing. No real rush, but I wonder if you could send some of the text that I wrote? I still have all the maps and things that I myself made. Kind of disappointing that this world collapsed. I still work on one of the languages/cultures I made for this.
