I generally forget to say, so if it's relevant and I don't mention it--I'm from Southern Michigan and speak Inland North American English. Yes, I have the Northern Cities Vowel Shift; no, I don't have the cot-caught merger; and it is called pop.
Re: Help your conlang fluency
Very simply, with a relative clause: It's the oldest of the conlangs (that) I'm still working on. You don't need to have a preposed adjectival phrase.Benturi wrote:("Of my still-worked-on conlangs, it is the oldest." Seriously, how do you say that?)

On the other hand, Cyrlillic had been shoehorned [onto quite a lot of Asian languages]*, so I dont see any problems.

(I could see it work well enough, if it's to be assumed that most vowels without a macron as written in the Latin script are to be pronounced extremely short and thus not represented in the Cyrillic script. Maybe?)finlay wrote:Cyrillic doesn't work like thatYourFace wrote:гьсйонд зкаф эчфқу.
