Could you please use IPA? X-SAMPA may be easier to type, but IPA is far easier to read. I for one have to look up most of the characters you use there. Here’s a conversion tool to make it easier for you.

...Could we please all just go out of our way feeding our posts through conversion programmes so that you don't have to learn xsampa? The conlanging community, and this board, have been using xsampa for more than a decade. If you really can't cope with it, I believe there are now online translator tools to help you. For instance, here's a conversion tool to make it easier for you - you can just copy-paste my sampa into that and it'll give you IPA.

General hint: newbies demanding that moderators do extra work that the newbie could do themselves but can't be bothered to... that's sort of a misunderstanding of the way that group dynamics generally work on the internet.

And be grateful that you're too fresh to remember the days when everything was a melange of X-SAMPA, Americanist Notation, Kirschenbaum and CXS (alas, my own XXX-SAMOA never caught on...).

MORE IMPORTANTLY: using sampa isn't just easier, it's also politer. Some users may not be able to display all IPA correctly, and some visually impaired users may rely on text-to-speech programmes that struggle with unicode.

Okay, I see your point. I’m sorry. Thank you. (I’m not going to switch to X-SAMPA, though.)
My version of the SCA²

About my conlangs: No. 1 is my proto-language, and No. 4, my main conlang, is one of its descendants. I’m currently revising 4, calling it 4a.

Admittedly, this does go against my other principle of "people posting about their conlangs shouldn't make their readers do extra work when they could do it themselves". And for that reason, I'm trying to get into the habit of using IPA when doing bigger sort-of 'presentation'-y things. But this is just trying a language out in a one-liner, so I'm not too worried about whether people fully understand the accent or not in this case.

I think mother speakers of English find all other languages (are) difficult to learn. I also think Finnish is easier than some other languages like Russian or Chinese.

I agree that it is not hard to learn Finnish. I've been learning it for a year now, even though I don't speak it well. Finnish is clear and beatiful, akin to Latin.

masako, it is as you say. Latin and Finnish are not related, yet I say they are similar. They have many vowels and flow off your lips when you speak. This is true from my German point of view.

Not at all - look at Quenya. Inspired by Finnish, sounds like Latin. The similarities are there.
