I think Merneha is ready to go. I'm still fixing up the formatting and filling in examples, but I've held this up long enough, and there ought to be everything in there that the next round will need.
(And if not, I've still held this up long enough, so go ahead and go on without me.

Merneha looks awesome. I also notice it's crept closer to Kibülʌiṅ in certain ways.
Anyway, Kibülʌiṅ should be regarded as done too. All I really expect to do from here in is make additions to the lexicon (and perhaps examples).

Yeah, the one conscious shift towards Kibülʌiṅ was using the phase suffixes for grounding. I tried to resist, but it just seemed like the Right Thing to do with them.4pq1injbok wrote:Merneha looks awesome. I also notice it's crept closer to Kibülʌiṅ in certain ways.
The two-trigger system looks seriously badass, btw. Nice job.

Kudos to nebulawindphone and 4pq1injbok: Your languages are indeed pretty cool!
Also, with three Peninsular languages finished, we're finally able to start Round II in this group. Kuanye, krinnen, faiuwle, and ulan, you may start your turns! Please select one of Proto-Peninsular, Gaadràmarneš, Merneha, or Kibülʌiṅ to work from. Your goal date is December 31st.
----
In the Western group, basically everyone is running late... get going, guys
What is there so far looks quite promising though. Nortaneous' Hāňheliubľ just needs some polishing, the second half of the text, and more vocab (although a written syntax section would be good as well). Kohorik's Satnímʔa looks really cool, but much of verbal morphology is still missing, as are syntax, lexicon and text. Arzena's Shtåså has phonology and noun morphology so far, and Abi's Ohilí is just phonology at this point. We haven't seen anything from brandrinn yet, but he said he'd post something soon... go ahead, please!
I'm myself guilty of not adding the finishing touches to Tmaśareʔ yet, but it should have enough to derive a daughter from. Also, we have several earlier Western languages with no or few descendants yet, so I think we can start the next round here too:
PeteTheMadScientist, Trailsend, and Tarasoriku, please choose one of Proto-Coastal-Western (PDF), Šetâmol (PDF), Óhylvídós, or Tmaśareʔ, and start working! (If you don't like any of these, Satnímʔa and Hāňheliubľ might be advanced far enough to start deriving a daughter, and one more descendant of Çetázó or Iŋomœ́ should be in order too.) As with the Peninsular group, try to finish until December 31st.
[EDIT: caedes too.]
----
After that, we're running out of participants for Western, so if anyone wants to join in, please step forward! There would even be some space in the group that is starting just now...

The Shtåså lexicon is now alphabetized and outfitted with good aesthetics

Awesome. If you find anything unclear/missing/whatever, lemme know — I threw it up in a bit of a hurry, and there might be stuff that didn't make it out of my head and onto the page.

Shtåså is finished. From now on I'll be adding more vocab to the lexicon and history of the Anheshnaks and their interactions with Xshalad.
EDIT: I have a question, before I took a close look at the relay rules, I hastily made a sketch for a descendant of Proto-Western called Empótleʔá. I was wondering if I could complete it and post it on Akanawiki, seeing that I'm done with Shtåså, I would like something to do.

I was thinking about starting to compile a comparative translation page for Peninsular earlier today, like the one for Western, and I noticed that Merneha doesn't have a sample text yet. Also, I saw this just now:
Yeah, why not. We don't really need another direct descendant of PW, strictly speaking, but I guess the geography of the region is such that we could easily accommodate another early western isolate, most likely somewhere in the mountains close to the PW homeland. Looking forward to see what it's like...Arzena wrote:EDIT: I have a question, before I took a close look at the relay rules, I hastily made a sketch for a descendant of Proto-Western called Empótleʔá. If you feel like you can complete a relay language until New Year's Eve, you can start right away, preferrably from one of Proto-Coastal-Western (PDF), Šetâmol (PDF), Óhylvídós, or Tmaśareʔ. If you want more time and/or prefer to work in the Peninsular family, I'd suggest waiting for the next round, i.e. joining the January group. This would also give you more opportunities to check out possible parent langs.Torco wrote:ðis looks fun... where do I start ?

Torco - I'm in the early stages of work on a descendant of PCW (not strictly part of the relay) so if you're interested in deriving another we could collaborate on the history of that part of the world. Just a thought
