Missed me?
My hair colour is slowly getting there.
Also, I realise, I've only showed my face and some of my upper body here. MOAR:

Him, or is that what his shirt says? If not, what does it say (if you can decipher it)?

I have no idea what it means. The shirt was given to me, and I only wear it at home, since I only really like light ones.Yiuel wrote:Corny love character.Skomakar'n wrote:I guess I'm more or less blond now:

It's the Hanzi for "love" on that shirt (well the big character, the picture isn't detailed enough for the small text under it). It's a classic. That I find corny.schwhatever wrote:Him, or is that what his shirt says? If not, what does it say (if you can decipher it)?

You should go ahead and say it then.Eddy wrote:I almost feel tempted to say so as well.Skomakar'n, I gotta say, you're sexy as hell. The hair really suits you.
I'm a straight guy but I don't have a problem with finding other guys attractive. I remember I saw a picture of you too a while ago, Eddy, and you're really not so bad either.

Now, silent letters, on the other hand, looks good. I sorta wish I could grow that type of beard... but, alas, my years are few in number, so hope still remains.
And Kostalan Rottsaa looks sorta like I did before I got a haircut... well, except he's probably quite a bit taller.

I totally missed that picture of Kostalan back there. There we go. That hair looks comfortable, and so does the environment in which you are sitting. Very nice picture.
Silent Letters! You're in a nice environment too! That shirt has a nice colour, and that cup makes me want to go buy coffee from a shop. Is it coffee in there?

It's a lovely environment - the High Line park in Manhattan - and it is indeed coffee.Skomakar'n wrote: Silent Letters! You're in a nice environment too! That shirt has a nice colour, and that cup makes me want to go buy coffee from a shop. Is it coffee in there?
It might help if you shave frequently in your younger years. I hear this encourages faster, denser growth. OTOH,vampireshark wrote: I sorta wish I could grow that type of beard... but, alas, my years are few in number, so hope still remains.
Genetics probably has a lot to do with it. It's hard to say when I was able to grow a full beard. Probably by 19 or 20, but that age I went around clean shaven, maybe some sideburns at most. It wasn't until the mid-20s that I let it grow in from time to time. It's been a fixture for about 5-6 years now.Yiuel wrote:I had my beard at 16.
Why do people keep repeating this?silent letters wrote: It might help if you shave frequently in your younger years. I hear this encourages faster, denser growth.

I've often heard this quoted and contradicted as a common myth. Hair feels more rough when the tips are shaved off, which is apparently what gives the impression of hair being stronger when you let it grow back after shaving.silent letters wrote:It might help if you shave frequently in your younger years. I've been shaving every other day for a couple of years, and now at almost 24 I'm still unable to grow a proper beard, because my hair only grows slowly, individual hairs are rather thin, the tips of my stubble don't contrast much with my skin, and I don't have too dense hair overall either. If I cut my top hair short you can always see my skin shine through. It's the same with my beard, basically.

There. It's 4 days of beard growth for me.
Yes, and levels of testosterone as far as I know.Genetics probably has a lot to do with it.

In my 20s I could get away with shaving once every two days, but now I do have to shave once a day. Yet if I shave with a blade rather than with an electric razor, I could just get away with not shaving the next day. However, I’m not bothered by this lack of testosterone now, since too much testosterone makes you go bald early.
Like GP says, it's a common myth.Torco wrote:Because it's true?MrKrov wrote:Why do people keep repeating this?silent letters wrote: It might help if you shave frequently in your younger years. I hear this encourages faster, denser growth.

It's a myth because of the appearance. If your hair's really, really short, it'll appear to grow faster than if it were longer, despite the fact that hair tends to grow at about the same rate.
And I sport a moustache and goatee, but it's rather... pathetic, to say the least. But I'm not shaving any time soon.
