Hellesan:

n., adj. brestacaine "curmudgeon", literally "word puller/wrencher". Etymology: from brestacar "to grumble", from Arc. Hel. brezatacar, from breza- (isolated from esbrezar "to pull out", from brez "root") + tac "word".

I like having two different (and unrelated?) roots for the noun and the adjective.

By the way, has that conlang some ties to English? Ladhar reminds me a lot of leather. Image

Proto-Vdangku doesn't express movement forwards or backwards. Instead, it expresses actions more vaguely, towards or away from an object.

"away from a house"

I liked the split too, but for me I found it more interesting to derive the noun from an adjective and the adjective from a noun.. The lang is related to English. It will likely change a lot more as I understand OE phonology better.

ledren leather/leathery > ledaren > leDaren > laDaren> laDar
fell skin/pelt[/i ] + lic like > pel + litS = pellitS > pelliS
crud, I just realize there was to be i-affection which means it should be pillish not pellish, unless I say the compounding happened after i-affection was productive.

Oh, that's a good one. I'll reply, but not add a new word so that anyone else who wants to share can post their translation as well.

In Poswa it's fairly simple: either gwaesum bikinop or bobbum bikinop, both with the structure "anger+CAUSED.BY speechless+ENOUGH.TO.BE" (badly written gloss, I know). While I love making new words for concepts that are rarely monomorphemic in natlangs, the Poswa uses this structure for nearly all concepts that can be analyzed as "X(adj) enough to be Y(adj)".
