For: Documented grammar, 16000+ words in alphabetic word list, 10 complete introductory lessons, lots and lots of existing text (both original and translated), currently 5 more or less fluent speakers.

Against: Grammar & lessons all in Swedish, full word list only on card index (transfer to digital in progress but won't be finished before this fall).
If you have the grammar available somewhere, I'd like to take a look. It being in Swedish is no problem for me :).

That could be arranged. I'll just assemble all chapters and make a pdf for you.

What's vital is complete, well-described grammar. Words can be formed by the speakers as needed, so long as the phonotactics are fleshed out as well.

I really wish one of my two current conlangs were complete enough to offer, but I've been extremely busy and won't be able to work on them until after finals. If we're still stuck without a decent candidate come July, I will suggest my conlang Kemacetan, which has a fair deal of notes on it, but none are compiled in a way convenient to access.

Sounds great. I'm curious to see what it's like. And I never get the chance to read anything conlang-related in Swedish, so that'll be fun.

Some of my texts about Rammy can be found on
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_wn ... edit?hl=en
I've added a bit of a "textbook" file, for those of you who want to be able to say "the dog is boring", and a more head-on grammar for Astraios and anyone else who feels the same. :)
I'll expand them soon, but I have a phonetics exam tomorrow. :P

I want to learn! I want one with a small/average phonology though. I've made a few, but I'm still deciding how I want to do it. I've gained a liking for Agglutinating langs.

If I may be allowed to coordinate a vote?

By Saturday, May the 7th, all people who wish to learn must state their intent, and all conlangs to be offered must be nominated by someone (creator or not). Then, there will be one week to discuss and vote. Voting will be simple: give each conlang a YES (I'd be okay learning that) or NO (no thanks). Whichever conlang has the most YES votes by Saturday, May the 14th, shall be chosen.

Unless there are objections, let it be so.

bad news, I proyect a 15% [+-3] success on people who say are going to learn conlangs.

good news, that makes the graph of people who know conlangs, people hwo know conlangs they didn't write, and people who know conlangs that zomp didn't write, are going to skyrocket. More power to you. I'd volunteer Ieseleu, if someone liked that kind of thing, but there's no reasonable lexicon or grammar written. Maybe for the next yer's version

you know, the "dude, you're awesome, you learned a conlang!" awards. we could even give some sort of formal recognition to the thing, like a medall.

:o :o :o Wow...

I do have some rough lesson plans and a course outline lying around - you've definitely inspired me to get them fleshed out and up on the web.

It sounds like a good idea to collect everyone's opinions on what they might like to learn. But it looks like we have enough people for a couple of groups learning different conlangs. Maybe some three or so people per conlang?

If someone's interested in mine, I'd consider applying as a learner too. Maybe I wouldn't study it to fluency, but at least have a look at it a bit more in-depth than you usually have time for on the Board.

Once again, people, we are not doing tiny groups of three. I started off suggesting just one person, plus the language creator, because I knew I wasn't going to drop out. But we all know what useless shits we are on this site from all those moribund collaborative conworlds we started. So if we do groups, they need to be large, at least five people, to ensure that anyone is left after the inevitable drop outs. Since we have only half a dozen people so far, I suggest we just start learning the same language. If a bunch more people join, they can add a second group and a second language.

Let's begin the vote on which language we want to learn. The contenders are:

Kardii
Inyauk
Kala
Rammy
Feayran

Do we have just one vote, or do we vote with points (e.g. 1-5, with 1 being least favourite and 5 being most favourite)?

Oh, for Christ's sake :) , just give us an idea what language you want, and whichever one seems to generate the most buzz will be the winner. This isn't the Voom.

If I had time to learn a conlang it would definitely be Feayran.
But I don't, so this isn't really a vote.

If everyone would please read my previous post, I suggested a voting method that would work better..

And I'm giving people a week as well. I mean, if you don't like what I suggested, could you at least please say so instead of ignoring me outright? That's why these things never seem to work.

@Zoris,

brandrinn pretty much agreed with your idea, simply in a more informal format. Frankly, I see no reason we need to have a formal vote, but I can understand in cases such as this that others would want one.

If we must vote, I say vote...post WHEN/IF you have chosen.

Kardii - my vote
