Re: Inyauk Practice Thread
I apologize for the english post, but are you guys getting all of this only from the pdf doc? I found everything REALLY cool, but I'm having a hard time here s:
Re: Inyauk Practice Thread
Actually, I have purposefully not looked at the pdf doc or lessons at all. At the start I knew nothing of Inyauk (except bits and pieces from Ossicone's various threads, but I'm trying not to rely on those at all) except what I asked in my first post. I'm just riddling this out through the conversation.
Give it a try! See if you can guess what things mean, then use it to see if it works.

Re: Inyauk Practice Thread
@Sárak: Good guess.
@Taernsietr: No, it's not at all from the pdf. But most of everything here should be covered in it. It just a fun lang learning game. If you're having real difficulty, I can pm you an explanation. Or check the section on the 'adjectizer.'

Re: Inyauk Practice Thread
I'll reread everything tomorrow. Right now all I can read is nínairuk and mapples. Wait, what?
Re: Inyauk Practice Thread
lol. I recommend sticking with the lessons in the beginning. They give you a good foundation to start with.

What are you trying to say in the second sentence? And where did you get ápat from?

Re: Inyauk Practice Thread
If you're going to induct the vocabulary one word at a time, it may take you some days to learn the entire language.

as though her heart was brook: Why, why, why! Weh, O weh

Re: Inyauk Practice Thread
Well yes, but that's not really a problem. Once I internalize the grammar, I can acquire new vocab as it's needed. For concrete nouns it just takes a quick zarní, concrete adjectives are similarly simple, and for more abstract things, with enough concrete vocab I can set up conversations such that Ossicone will give me the words I want in a way I'll understand. I don't need to learn the lexicon all at once, I just need to know enough so that when I need a new word, I'm able to get it.

Okay, time for something new.

Nínaáak... I pat myself on the chest.
Naháak... I hold my palm out towards you.
I pat myself on the chest, then hold my hand out towards you. Zarní?

Delicious! Is that a circumfix? Or maybe two separate morphemes? So many questions! (Don't actually answer those, it would spoil my fun )

Whooa! Can it be? Perhaps, áa<ni>k-at? Delicious indeed!
Note: Something appears to be backwards, so it's possible I misunderstood. I placed the áaknairuk in front of you, and the áaknaihda in front of me. Should I switch them?
Also, I have a list of words going: Átx, nunúnapaxiin, fínapaxiin...

Re: Inyauk Practice Thread
>_> Bad editing. ápat was the old version. áp is the new one. I'm still not sure what you mean though. Unless of course you mean 'I need to be going/walking this hour.' but -utxat/-ana implies this something you are doing for the whole hour which seemed kinda weird.Astraios wrote:Yúpuhan:Ossicone wrote:And where did you get ápat from?Looking again, I guess that's a typo and I should have said Txím rakápana lanátaputxat. You wrote:2.1.6.3.3 Origin: ... nífin - desire
