Conlingual Telephone
Re: Conlingual Telephone
Risla; the passage I chose may have been a bit too long. If you don't have enough time, go ahead and leave off however much you want; I'd rather have you complete a smaller passage on time than take an extra couple days to finish a large passage.

Re: Conlingual Telephone
The length isn't an issue, actually; I've only failed to completely translate some of the verbal derivational morphology, and it's kind of my fault that it is rather complex. I'll try to have it sent by morning tomorrow, though.
And then you get to have fun with South Eresian verbs of motion.

Re: Conlingual Telephone
How long is the text?
Zain pazitovcor, sio? Sio, tovcor.
You can't read that, right? Yes, it says that.

Re: Conlingual Telephone
The whole text is translated, so I just need to write some stuff on grammar. I'll definitely have it sent by tonight, but I need to sleep for now. Sorry for taking so long with it.

Re: Conlingual Telephone
I can't believe this just happened.
I'll try to redo this within the next few hours (the notes don't look salvageable and I am fairly disinclined to try that), but I don't know if I'll be able to. If I can't do it by tonight, should I keep working on it or would you like to just skip me? I am really, really, really sorry about this.

Re: Conlingual Telephone
iunno, i think four days is a bit too short a time to realistically translate a 200-word text + write up grammar for it

no, your dog doesn't make you a failure.Risla wrote:d I'm just a colossal failure at life.
also nort the conlang list gives you 48 hours, so it's twice as long as enough.
Re: Conlingual Telephone
Just so you know, I need to do my translation this weekend because I'll be gone for the next week... Yeah no pressure...

Re: Conlingual Telephone
Some stuff has come up IRL and I definitely won't be able to do it by then. I'm really, really sorry for fucking up. I probably just shouldn't sign up for anything like this ever.
So yeah, just skip me.

Re: Conlingual Telephone
I'll go ahead and start then, seeing as I have the text... sorry about that. If things change I bet you'll be able to join in at the end.
Re: Conlingual Telephone
Ok, I adjusted the dates. Risla, if you want to join later in the chain, I'll add you.

Sent! That was fun =)
Re: Conlingual Telephone
Oh my... Is it already my turn? Well, fortunately, I haven't read the English translation yet. So I'm still gonna mess it up.ná'oolkiłí wrote:Sent! That was fun =)

I just took a look at the Náles. I have no idea how I'm going to complete the translation in 4 days.

4 days is aaaages!
Also if it's not too much trouble, could you highlight the person whose turn it is in the OP (ie, currently yourself) – just makes it clearer how quickly the game is progressing.

What news?
Re: Conlingual Telephone
I just started working on it. In the end, it turns out I'll do into Athonian. It's my most developed conlang, so it would also be simpler and with less mistakes.
BTW: I have no idea what the phonology of Náles is.

Re: Conlingual Telephone
^^^ Not having a phonology shouldn't make a difference for your translation, should it? The orthography gives considerably more morphological information than the phonology would. If you're curious, though, I should have a post about it on my thread today.
Also, did you get my pm?

So you're still following this thread. That's good, because you expressed interest in translating from Tmaśareʔ, but Mr. Z didn't include you in the list of participants as you hadn't confirmed you'd really do it. So what's the current state, do you want to participate?Trailsend wrote:What news?

Hm? I thought I was on the schedule, for early July (though we're running a bit late, now)...cedh audmanh wrote:So you're still following this thread. EDIT: Oooh, wait. Looks like I didn't make it from this list to the list in the OP. Yes! I'm still interested!Mr. Z wrote:Well, here is the list:
Risla - 29 (May)
Zoris - 2 (June)
Naloolkili – 6
Mr. Z – 10
Lyhoko Leaci – 14
Bedelato – 18
Qiihoskeh – 22
Nortaneous - 26
Cedh Audmanh - 30
Trailsend – 3 (July)
Finlay - 7
Zoris - 11
Those are the final dates. Each person has 4 days. I have a text, but I need to edit it a bit (so it won't be easily recognizable, and won't reference unrelated, difficult to describe things), so we'll probably start on Thursday. Sorry it takes so much time.
Anyway, Risla starts the chain and Zoris translates twice, once as part of the chain and once finishing it. Prepare yourselves.
Re: Conlingual Telephone
Oh, that's weird. I wonder how it happened. Anyway, I fixed it.
Unfortunately, I failed at completing the translation on time. Sorry. I'll fix the dates when I finish it.
Náles is too... It has such crazy morphophonology and verb inflection.
