Because otherwise you need an emailed permission to access the files. Only those in the 'public' folder can be linked to publically.

Aha, I thought it meant the /public folder on the computer. Did not compute. Still can't download either way(s).

Oh, ok. I did that. I had clicked on "Copy public link" from the dropbox website to get the public links the first time, but they were different.

Possibly accurate, although I'd need another way of confirming it. Either way, "They're already in there" is valid, while "They're already" is not, and "They are already" is.

Also das hier soll jetzt einfach mal ein Beispiel dafür sein, wie ich – äh – Deutsch rede, ohne jetzt irgendwie großartig darauf zu achten, möglichst hochsprachlich zu reden. Ähm – ich bin halt in Nordhessen aufgewachsen, und – ähm – da gibt's jetzt nicht so den dicken Dialekt – äh – wie zum Beispiel in Süddeutschland teilweise. Und – äh – das einzige, was vielleicht ein bisschen komisch ist, wenn man nach Nordhessen kommt, wo man sich dran gewöhnen muss, ist, dass die Leute statt "andauernd" – äh – meistens "als" sagen. Also zumindest ein Lehrer bei mir an der Uni hat sich da- mal -rüber ausgelassen, dass ihm das am Anfang halt ein bisschen komisch vorkam, als er dann gesagt bekommen hat: "Ja, da müssen Sie als geradeaus fahren." Und – ähm – das ist aber auch relativ alles, eigentlich.

(So this is simply supposed to be an example of me – um – talking in German, without taking especially great care to talk as standard as possible. Um – I've, like, grown up in Northern Hesse and – um – there you don't get that thick a dialect – um – like for example in parts of Southern Germany. And – uh – the only thing that might be a little weird is that if you come to Northern Hesse, what you'll have to get used to is that instead of "andauernd" [all the time], people – uh – mostly say "als" [as]. Well, at least one of my teachers at uni went on about that once that at the beginning, it was, like, a little strange to him when he was told once "Ja, da müssen Sie als geradeaus fahren" [Well, there you'll have to go straight ahead 'as']. And – uh – that's basically all, in fact.)
