Ohinternet, the site that replaced ED, is a pretty good resource for learning about internet culture, although it also suffers from delusions of funniness. Anything is better than KnowYourMeme though.

Encyclopaedia Dramatica was removed and in its place came a redirect to OhInternet.finlay wrote:"Replaced" ED?Zumir wrote:Ohinternet, the site that replaced ED, is a pretty good resource for learning about internet culture, although it also suffers from delusions of funniness.

I guess "replaced" isn't a good word to use, since ED seems to have sprung right back: http://encyclopediadramatica.ch/Main_Page
Still available, still not funny.

OhInternet is run by the same person/people who ran the original ED.Timmytiptoe wrote:Encyclopaedia Dramatica was removed and in its place came a redirect to OhInternet.finlay wrote:"Replaced" ED?Zumir wrote:Ohinternet, the site that replaced ED, is a pretty good resource for learning about internet culture, although it also suffers from delusions of funniness.

Re: What not to miss when visiting the internet
For people like me, rfbd.org (now learningally.org) and freedomscientific.com are extremely useful websites. Also Facebook mobile is good, if you can get over the fact that you cannot use the FB chat feature the times I've used it. aclclassics.org is useful if you are looking for Latin teaching positions.
Re: What not to miss when visiting the internet
There's a plugin for e.g. Pidgin to take care of that. The Facebook chat works with XMPP/Jabber.

So far only a few have been published, but pianists will likely like them.
