Equi-rectangular map of Almea...?

Questions or discussions about Almea or Verduria-- also the Incatena. Also good for postings in Almean languages.

Equi-rectangular map of Almea...?

Post by Oerjan »

Question for Zomp:

Do you have an Almean world map in equirectangular format (ie., using the longitudes and latitudes as a cartesian coordinate grid) as well as in the sinusoidal projection shown on the Drilldown page?

(I've tried to convert the sliced-up sinusoidal projection into an equirectangular map, but the result doesn't look very good :( )

Not a current one, I'm afraid. I have one in progress, though in fact I'd forgotten about it for a few months. (I have no easy procedure for making it, by the way. I go cell by cell, distorting it to the right shape and redrawing it.)

I was afraid you'd say that :(

What I did was to take the interrupted sinusoidal map and expand the map sections of each pixel line to fill the entire width of the map, but the polar regions - well, anything between the poles and the 45th parallells, really - looks rather iffy...

What latitude is Gurdago on, BTW?
