From VL tālem voltam "such time" (from CL tālis "such" and volūtāta, from volūtātus, from volūtō, frequentative of volvō "roll" through its participle volūtus), cognate of Irlandic talvolt, with the same meaning, itself related to Ibero-Romance (Castilian tal vez, Portuguese talvez).

Today I went to Okutama by train, and from there to Ome by bike, but I got carried away, and instead went the whole distance to Kichijoji. The second distance was more than twice the first distance (58 km and 23 km). I'm proud, but stupid and crazy and many other things.

I kind of plan to make a conscript based on Phoenician. This language, Newroman (name pending), is supposed to be spoken in an alternate universe where the Carthiginians won the Second Punic War, but Rome survived.

(so far, longest text in this language. might have made a mistake)

It's weird to write Himmaswa in Greek.

(I mostly just transplanted all the vowel digraphs directly from Latin to Greek)

Yaufulti naigiliisetakentagu gusakeltal luseyauya, fise yaluseyau.
Yaufulti looks ok in the greek alphabet, but not good.

(I know I'm kinda stretching it with using υ for /j/)

Alout de Elenekas en röntes Arve, zedast dan arvad en vörstes kes.
I can write Arve in Greek, but it works better if it's done phonetically.

(stigma for ç because one of the diachronic sources of ç is *st)

Rewriting my post in Greek and Hebrew alphabet.

Ϝυνεηκραννεηκυ νεηενκυϊτϊικυηε τετρα.
.וונהכראננהכו נהנכוייתייאיכוהא תתרא
The Hebrew part is a bit hard because I don't know whether to use something based on ktiv haser or ktiv male, plus I'm not sure if I need to distinguish some of the vowels vs consonants better.

Newroman with Greek letters is really simple, but I think it looks cool.

And in katakana, it's just ridiculous.

Σə χə λυ νζαξα νιο ρι πεια ντη λο ιəμα χηληνικα χουα.
Sə xə lu nzaysa ño ri peya ntɛ lo yəma xɛlɛnika xowa.
NULL.COP-3SG this.NOM DEF.ACC Nzaysa as.3 SUB.NOM COND.AUX-1SG>3 with.3 DEF.NOM symbol greek write
This is Buruya Nzaysa as I would write it with Greek symbols.

Σə χə ησηθι ιəμα πυχ λο ληγα μαιλογα ρəγα, αλυ στονια θηγα ενα ντη ρι σοϙωυα ω λευι μωραλα πευαδα.
Sə xə ɛsɛtsi yəma puh lo lɛga mayloga rəga, alu stoña tsɛga ena ntɛ ri so’ɔwa ɔ lɛwi mɔrala pewada.
NULL.AUX-3SG this.NOM species symbol for.3 DEF.NOM language decent-ADV be_suitable, although EMPH.AUX-2SG<3 only see with.3 SUB.NOM NULL.AUX-2SG>3 INDEF.ACC word select-PAT use
This type of symbols suits the language quite well, although you can only really see it when you use specific words.

(xi ξ for /js/ because the major diachronic source for this cluster is *ks~kt; theta θ for /ts/, qoppa ϙ for /ʔ/, digamma ϝ for /v/ (doesn't occur here), and schwa ə for /ə/ because all Greek vowel symbols are already taken.)

new word:
yəma (n.) symbol, sign, mark, character (of a script) < Fáralo iəma.
