What? We have to do that now? Fie. I never made a smooth English translation, just a crib to help going from OS to OO.Lyhoko Leaci wrote:You forgot the English translation, though...Dewrad wrote:Done and sent. We always did. It's to help those that don't know either Old French or Old Occitan, after all... a bare bones outline should be ok though.Dewrad wrote:What? We have to do that now? Fie. Oh god, I am officially destroying the text. I think I may just have invented a new idiom whose meaning evades me.

Re: Polyglottal Telephone XIII
I believe it's fixed now...
Is there anyone willing to do Finnish to Japanese (possibly with something else in the middle) in case Qwynegold doesn't show up?

My Finnish is horrible, but I could try.
Re: Polyglottal Telephone XIII
Oh god, whosever's idea it was to replace proper nouns with pronouns in the text because it supposedly makes it easier... you were wrong. I feel sure that this text originally had three or four different participants who could only be distinguished by name – context isn't always enough. But perhaps it's just Mangled already.
Anyway, I'm done, so passing it on...

Re: Polyglottal Telephone XIII
Maybe next time we should resort to something like put the proper nouns in italic?

Re: Polyglottal Telephone XIII
I would suggest that we just replace them with a bunch of made up names next time around though. Removing the names altogether has a tendency of fucking things up an extra degree for reasons that may just be unwarranted.
By the way, if anyone can do Finish to Spanish, I can work with that as well. Might get things rolling if Qwynegold continues to be elusive.
EDIT: Hey, when did I become Gent again?

Now you need 6000 points and not just 2000 to become a Šalea. Sorry.Peacekeeper wrote:EDIT: Hey, when did I become Gent again?
Re: Polyglottal Telephone XIII
OMG sorry! I had completely forgotten about this and then I went on vacation. I'll do my translation today. If I had gotten the text on time, I would've done it weeks ago.
Re: Polyglottal Telephone XIII
And the genders got lost in Finnish. But at least I can determine the gender of a few of the pronouns, because of that person's lady parts that are mentioned.finlay wrote:Oh god, whosever's idea it was to replace proper nouns with pronouns in the text because it supposedly makes it easier... you were wrong. Re: Polyglottal Telephone XIII
Looking forward to the text, Qwyne!

I guess the interesting part is how long I've actually been Shalea while still only being some 30 posts past the mark. Not that I mind, really, I always did find the Gent banner to be more attractive.Serafín wrote:Now you need 6000 points and not just 2000 to become a Šalea. Fun as it is to read about your endeavours, shouldn't we try to keep the spoilers to a minimum? I don't just mean Qwyne and fin, it seems to me that there's generally been more talk about the text this time than in previous iterations.Qwynegold wrote:And the genders got lost in Finnish.
