Pitch accent. Accented syllable gets downpitched. Arrows aren't *technically* supposed to be used for individual syllables I think, but they're used that way for Japanese transcription and that's what the accent in Hanheliubl is most similar to.

I'm assuming the superscript eng is simply a velar nasalization indicative.
If yes, in L¹ it becomes /meɹuŋa/ or /meɹũga/ depending on the speaker
