I am from a small town, but I study in Poznan.
(At the moment I am staying in Finland, though. I will get to Poland for the Christmas, but I am not going to Poznan. I will be for several hours in Gdansk twice during a few following weeks, but only due to the airplanes to/from Finland.)

Ah, very nice. I am excited that I added on Poznan. We will also be seeing the university. I am planning a tour there with a woman who operates custom tours of the city at a good price. If you were there I'd suggest we meet up, but as you said you won't be that's alright. You're very fortunate to have the opportunity to study in Finland and to master a language as unique as Finnish. I would love to someday see Finland. Though I'm guessing things are considerably more expensive than Poland.
Ah, I don't know this building too well. I have probably seen it several times but I never realized it had been a part of a university.
Well, the Cathedral Island is a nice place, and it's very close to ICHOT and Śródka, so you can visit these by the way.
(The campus I study on, Piotrowo, is directly to the south of the Island. Here you can see the campus
, the Old Town [bottom left], the Island
, Śródka and Komandoria [top left], Malta lake
, Rataje and Łacina
.)

If we don't study the mistakes of the future we're doomed to repeat them for the first time.

Ah thanks for that. That helps provide some context of the city.

Is it anything like Apulanta? I enjoy this band. If you have recommendations along the same lines I'm all ears.
I thought you were in Finland with school. But alcohol is equally a good reason.
FINALLY picked up my residence permit today! Not only is it exceptionally pink and shiny, but it means I can stay in the Grand Duchy until October 2018. It also means (within reason) I can travel in and outside the Schengen Area without worry.
I so happy...
What do you see in the night?
In search of victims subjects to appear on banknotes. Inquire within.

There is one more thing useful when moving across Polish cities: http://jakdojade.pl.
Ah for my passport it's blue. But of course it's blue cuz that's what America would chose. The inside pages are like an explosion of American patriotism.
We'll be there from Jan 11-16, each day in 1 city starting with Krakow-Auschwitz/Wieliczka-Wroclaw-Poznan-Warsaw-Katowice.
Thanks for the link. Is this a bus scheduler? I need to look into Katowice buses to the airport so we can catch our flight.

Wow, that's a nice trip.
It's a general scheduler, with buses, trams, city trains and the Warsaw metro. I was reminded of it because I need a bus from the airport myself.
That's a cool idea for passport inserts actually.
I'm excited for this trip. I've lined up tours in every city except Katowice. Apparently no one offers tours there in January. I'm especially excited for a communism tour of Krakow in an old Trabant around Nowa Huta. There weren't many reviews for this tour, compared to like Auschwitz, so I don't really know what to expect beyond what's in the itinerary but I really couldn't turn down the opportunity to ride in an old Trabant and visit a milkbar. I also can't wait to see the Palace of Science and Culture in Warsaw because I think it's beautiful. There are other things I'm excited for too, more architecture, food, history!
Yea I know the Polish hate it and have all sorts of nicknames for it, but I have always been a fan of this sort of imposing grandiose almost dystopian-like architecture. Like Moscow State University as well.

Guess I need to start figuring out how to get the visa...
Dang, I would be lying if I said I didn't want your life. Luxembourg, India, and now Brazil! Plus you've been more places in the world probably than my entire family combined!
