Flaids and Outside of Eretald

Questions or discussions about Almea or Verduria-- also the Incatena. Also good for postings in Almean languages.

Flaids and Outside of Eretald

Post by Yiuel Raumbesrairc »

Well, stemming from the Greeks' thread, I wonder much about Flaids. So, zompist :

How are Flaids received outside Eretald? In Eretald, they are well known so there isn't much to say, but how do other people reacted? (Perhaps even reactions from Eretald may be good to hear)

Do they even have a special name for them. Perhaps are they considered uesti in some places?

I ask this because there is a strong contrast between the Flaids and the other non-uesti sentinent species in Almea. Ilii, Elkari and Icëlani are well known throughout Almea, but Flaids were initially only in the vincinity of the Misicama. Since the great travels (in which you said the Flaids actually take part), Flaids are now seen almost everywhere, so did it create some special reaction?

They are probably accepted as humans. Premodern European believed in people without heads or dog-people. They were described as humans, not as animals. And flaids are pretty similar to us. :?

Since they have their own language, most natural thing to do is to count them as a nationality.

I didn't recall that I had a question pending-- sorry, Yiuel.

Because nonhuman species are well known on Almea, it's not much of a leap for an unfamiliar group to be taken as a different species.

They're strange enough that initial encounters might have been a little tense. On the other hand, they came in ships and pretty obviously were interested in trade, so people would get used to them fairly quickly.
