Questions or discussions about Almea or Verduria-- also the Incatena. Also good for postings in Almean languages.

Post by ConlangArtist »

All I know about these speceis is thta they have lowe populations and intelligence. Is there anything else you can feel me in on Zomp? I was just wondering, cause species that are more elf like and of course like that i mean forrest dweeling and small creatures.. they seem to interest me probably most of all species.

Hey, the Flaids don't have low intelligence! And there's some information on them spreaded everywhere- their home island Flora is mentioned in the Verdurian drilldown, they are mentioned in the external history, and they were discussed a couple of times both here and on the old board.

Unfortunately I don't have much to say about the ic?lani. They're rather elusive, and they don't enter into human history much. It's considered bad luck to see one-- probably because of stories of humans who stumble on an ic?lan gathering, are enchanted with the pretty half-naked girls, and become obsessed with them-- but can never find them again. There's a name for this obsession, pizarda. (Those who have seen ic?lani close-up and under good light usually call them ugly, however.)

People who live near the forest report having minor items stolen, and sometimes leave out food or other gifts for the ic?lani to prevent this. Others manage to establish trading relationships (e.g. knives or hooks for honey or rare herbs).
