hello i am a spergcriptivist who thinks language needs to be logical

i hate it when normal people say "n times less than x" when they mean x/n :cry:

this is the worst thread in history

THen I beg you farewell and hope you'll find either a reality or another planet where that is the case. On this planet that is not the case =)

and I would say "n times less than x" is logical because it cannot be analyzed word by word but the entire "times less than" have as a single unit acquired the meaning of "one xth of"

how logical for example is "to kick the bucket" meaning that one die? =/
