Seahorses, I Love 'Em (& other Links of Interest)
Re: Seahorses, I Love 'Em (& other Links of Interest)
It's a Jewish conspiracy obv.
<King> Ivo, you phrase things in the most comedic manner

I thought you were on our side, Io, but it turns out you only want to learn our secret language so you can expose us. Traitor.
Re: Seahorses, I Love 'Em (& other Links of Interest)
You mean "doctors". I suspect that it's something done right after birth and unless you explicitly mention that you don't want them circumcised, they'll go ahead and do it. Where I live, Jews are very rare, but at my school all the males in my grade save one were circumcised. (Knowledge gained from communal showers.)Because many people in the US believe that circumcision is "healthier" (will lead to less problems down there), or something like that. I recently read that that is not at all true, and there is actually no benefit to the procedure.
And so the debate rages on. (I can't remember the last time the ZBB had a full on debate about this, perhaps one's due?)Because many people in the US believe that circumcision is "healthier" (will lead to less problems down there), or something like that. I recently read that that is not at all true, and there is actually no benefit to the procedure.
Wasn't it suggested by doctors after WW2 or something because soldiers had problems with infections? What is this weird American custom for Christians getting circumcised? Where did that come from? Is it from some evangelical influence?

It didn't really have much to do with Jews, it had a lot more to do with crazy Victorian prudes wanting a nice way to Curb Masturbation. It doesn't actually work, but it's become Tradition now, so...it just sort of keeps on happening?
Or at least that's one theory

That has to be seen to be believed... Penetrating a bear's fur and (presumably) thick skin with human teeth? Without the bear biting and scratching you to death? Also, the only hits are links to this picture. I call a fake! :)Nortaneous wrote:http://i.imgur.com/Sk7a2.jpg

Yeah, it's probably fake, but he didn't penetrate anything. He stuck his hand down the bear's throat and pinched off its jugular. And it could be that someone took the picture recently.

Whoa, that guy makes Chuck Norris look like a helpless wimp. He could probably sneeze Norris to death by accident.

Truly the stuff that haunts the nightmares of urban planners and probably anyone who has ever worried about where technology is going. Makes the Kowloon Walled City look like a loose assortment country clubs and McMansions.

I prefer Dutch "Bert en Ernie" [ˈbɛrt ɛn ˈɛrni]. Though nothing funnier than Ert und Bernie!Guitarplayer wrote:Yes. And they pronounce it [ˈɛɐ̯ni] and [ˈbɛɐ̯tʰ].Travis B. wrote:In German they are referred to as Ernie und Bert.

I think an unwritten policy of only posting things that paint St Louis in a good light will do a hell of a lot of good for all of us.Viktor77 wrote:LOOK AT ME I'M SO COOL BECAUSE I CAN ADD FLAME TO THE FUCKING FIRE

Oh, man. None of Pennsylvania's cities are in the top twenty five.
These lists always bother me because they, or at least the news about them, seldom considers internal variation in crime. Many parts of Baltimore, for example, are very dangerous, but the central and suburban sections are probably reasonably safe and much of the danger arises from being involved in the drug trade. The murder rate in Baltimore is, on the whole, very high, but for those not entangled in the drug trade, it's close to the national average.

I laughed out loud when I saw New Haven in the Top 25. I mean yeah it's pretty shitty there, but surely not top 25 most dangerous in the country? I guess there's a reason why someone I know jokingly refers to it as "Gun wavin' New Haven"Delthayre wrote:Oh, man. None of Pennsylvania's cities are in the top twenty five.

Re: Seahorses, I Love 'Em (& other Links of Interest)
I dunno, Feijuada was always complaining about it on IRC when he came to my channel. Of course his complaints had more to do with racism than fear of crime as such. But he did mention crime as a problem.I laughed out loud when I saw New Haven in the Top 25. I mean yeah it's pretty shitty there, but surely not top 25 most dangerous in the country? Something that I always try to point out when my mother worries about me moving to Seattle or another major city.
