No! You NEVER find rivers in savannas or jungles. It's UNHEARD OF. :o :o :o
Yeah, especially in jungles.

I didn't want to do something bad, and seeing as how there weren't any rivers on the map already, I was worried.
Unfortunately, this is largely unimportant, because I have to drop out. :(
I don't have any kind of time now!

I'm going to have to drop out. I have French coursework to do for Tuesday, and the person I've been assigned to do it with has avoided all forms of contact since last Tuesday. And I have other coursework for later. Bah. :( Feel free to invade me and take over my land and subjugate my people.

Wait wait wait... this is ridiculous. If you guys need more time then go ahead. people shouldn't feel pressured to finish stuff that is basically a hobby. I mean come on !

Sure, I've got some free time these days, things being slow at the office and all that, and it looks like some of our contributors work in this even faster, but I don't like all this deadline satanic mill thing. Okay, maybe I do like the notion that things moving is better than things not moving, but at this rate, this is going to be me, lukaskelly, cockroach and ebba... and I'm not even sure I'm going to want to work at this rate in the long run... I'm not done with the protolang or the social structure, even though I have plenty of stuff on culture. And it's friday. And I'm not going to work on this anymore today.

My point is, let's loosen up a bit, shall we? In the meantime, I propose we decide on stuff about the planet: do we even have a moon, for christ's sake?

I figure you can change the name

note: it would have been better if you had stated the reason why you couldn't do this yourself =)

Don't leave! You don't need to quit. Just come back and develop them when you're done. I was actually going to post that the deadlines aren't a hard thing, it's the date when everyone else can move on.

Yeah we need all the help we ca get. valiums, Astraios, please don't go! The project wouldn't be the same without you. (I extend this to all others who have quit too: we will be moving on, but if you have any needs regarding time or anything else, let us know. It's better we get things done late than never)

I know things can get busy. I've had to develop the beginnings of the Tll-Ikish writing system while writing a ten page research paper, among other things. The point is, any effort, no matter how small, will be appreciated (if you're really stretched for time you can, for example, delegate developing the culture to another member. Then when you're ready to take over again, you can keep whatever they've done that you like and change whatever they've done that you don't. This is just one idea, and maybe someone else has others.)

C'mon! These types of projects don't have very good odds of succeeding. Let's rise above the challenge and show that though it may be difficult, it can be done.

In that case I shall stay. :D

Anyway, my conpeople aren't really in a position to develop very quickly, so it'll be more realistic with different cultures developing faster and others slower.

Quite true, though as I said disparities in technological advancement should be voluntary, and not the result of some people having more free time than others. Hopefully no-one should have the history of their people planned out beyond at most the iron age yet.

So far I've worked on begin to apply changes to my language. I think I'm gonna break my people into three. With each developing a certain technology, and becoming a little more schismatic.

WHS

Let's get this mother fucker going... at it's own pace :=)

Also, I think we should have more interaction. Does anyone want to make up a hybrid people? maybe a Tll-Ikish/Chalmean hybrid population on the southern coast?

Sure! I was gonna use Proto-Chalmean for some of the Drs-Ikish languages anyways (though that would be MUCH later on.)
