Your dream is very interesting. I am not sure how Freud would interpret it. I usually find Jung to be more appropriate for dream interpretation.

But my interpretation of that dream: You're feeling that someone else knows more about your inner self than you know.

The albino could be a stranger, a person devoid of color and personality.

The messages on your bones could signify that there is something in your subconscious that is bothering you. (Any imagery in a dream would be something known to your subconscious, but if you can't read or understand it, and someone else is reading it, then you might be hiding aspects of yourself from you.)

I hope that made sense, because I tend to use florid speech and highfalutin analysis in dream interpretations... lol

Recently? I think he'd already tossed them in the dirt long ago when he took his clothes off [EDIT: for me, Viktor, (Io? Probably)] in the Photos Thread (was it the Photos Thread or somewhere else?). :P

I'd ask to have the above dream interpreted, but IMO the interpretation is blatantly obvious: It's my subconscious reminding me I'm conservative, as if I needed reminding of that.

Another linguistic first: Alemannic!

I was living in a cottage off the main road. Behind us, a commuter railway through the woods. The train broke down and people started streaming out toward the road. Most passed by through the lane on the right-hand side, but as I glanced out the front windows and I a few coming around the left-hand side of the house [from the right according to my perspective] and then cutting through the front garden. I went up to the windows and opened one with the intent at yelling at the next person to do this.

But I didn't see any more miscreants. Instead, a large band of people wearing matching red coats came trooping by. They were speaking a foreign language which I assumed (probably on the basis of their dark hair) was Spanish. But then I spied the word "Schweizerisches" on a banner carried by one and realised they were a Swiss hiking group. So I called out a hearty "Guete Morge!" They were charmed and began chatting with me in their native dialect, which I understood surprisingly well. They could tell I wasn't Swiss, though. One very politely commented on my small errors and I responded, "Eigentli räd i nur Schwäbisch...oder Badisch!" (I don't know why I said I spoke Swabian at first and then had to correct it to Badish; probably because I was speaking to Swabians on Saturday.)

More fever-induced waking hallucinations:

1. I woke up believing that my bed was some sort of vast outdoor realm. I spoke to a man who said he was wandering the rural areas of the country in search of Bigfoot, so he could get a good photograph. Then I rolled over onto the other side of the bed, where another man was constructing a fortification out of the blankets. I decided I would take cover in his fort.

2. Before going to bed I read that hilarious diplomatic cable from Wikileaks about the Dagestani wedding. I woke up in the middle of the night, convinced that I was in Dagestan, and in fact I was Gadzhi Makhachev, the Avar oil baron from the article - or else I was his son Dalgat, whose wedding it was. I kept moving from the bed to the floor and back to try to get comfortable. When I was on the bed I thought that I was Gadzhi, and when I was on the floor I thought that I was Dalgat.

I kept telling myself that I was not Dagestani, that my name was John and I was at home in Brooklyn, but I could not fully convince myself of this. The notion that I was Gadzhi/Dalgat just kept popping back in. I was basically tripping my ass off.

(I'm gradually recovering from this illness, don't worry. these weird depersonalized episodes might be a side effect of the Cipro I was taking)

Sometime back during the summer, I had a dream that I was Kaorin from Azumanga Daioh, and I was in an apartment room several floors up in an old-fashioned brick apartment complex, and I had a pair of binoculars and I was spying on Sakaki. Also, I was hunkered down under the window, afraid that Kimera would see me though the window. Oddly, the fear of Kimera persisted for a little while even after I woke up.

This morning, I dreamed that I was viewing Simtropolis (another forum) and looking at some replies to my city journal. Two new replies had been made, one of which was by someone who actually exists in real life and posts in my city journal, the other was some made up name that began with a 'k.' They city journal update that the replies were for seemed to be something about a seaport, or maybe a spaceport, but doesn't exist in the real city journal. I was doing the viewing from my home, so when I was woken up by my alarm clock at my college apartment, there were a couple seconds of wondering "Where am I?" and also "What day is it?"

I just had a dream that I was reading Wikipedia articles on these princesses of some cult. They were the daughters of the cult's head honcho, and reminded me a lot of JonBenet Ramsey. All of the sudden I was standing up in the back of a movie theater watching a horror movie (which was also at the same time classified government footage) about this cult. They were showing some initiation ritual where the head honcho was giving a speech. This ritual was outside and it was sunny and raining at the same time (not just sunshowering—there were clear skies and thick grey clouds simultaneously). The ritual might also have been at a UN conference or something; there were a lot of official-looking people. There was no noise in the film, but I somehow realized that the cult leader was lip-synching the speech he was giving, and the speech-track began skipping. The cat was now out of the bag, and it became obvious from this that the cult was actually a bunch of alien-robot-mystery-Mormons. Secret service-looking men (who were part of the cult, not the government) pulled out machine guns and shot the speaker and then the camera.

The movie ended and everyone in the theater began walking up this passage way that was similar to a shrunken parking garage. I knew that the passage led to the place the initiation movie took place. The tunnel got narrower and narrower and steeper and stepper, so I had to pull myself up by grabbing on to pipes (that had paint pealing from them; I was very distressed because ever since I was little I've been a little afraid of paint chips because I thought they gave you lead poisoning, and also I really needed to wash my hands). There were homeless people in the tunnel that were getting more and more relentless in their panhandling. All of them chanted the same thing: "Please, can you spare some change? Anything will help. Please, can you spare some cream? A number? Anything?". Cream as in lotion, because I guess they have dry skin. A number as in a telephone number so they could call you and have something to do. At the very end of the tunnel it was getting really steep and hard to climb. A homeless woman who was also part slug or something get grabbing onto me, but I shook my leg hard enough and she fell off down to the bottom of the tunnel. I woke up.

I dreamt I was taking a class in Japanese (see page 1 of this thread for a dream where I was learning Korean). I don't remember much except that we were talking about old grey buildings and that towards the end of the class the teacher wanted to us to practice saying "hotujite!" (later he changed to "hotujire!") To the point of saying the words loudly many times. I started to copy him exactly, even the intonation, such that I think he thought I was making fun of him. His accent seemed more like Chinese than Japanese to me, but then, I'm not sure I've even met a Japanese speaker in person before, so I don't have a good idea of what a Japanese accent sounds like.

I woke up at 2:30 and wrote the words down because I knew I wouldn't remember them otherwise. It seems there is no /tu/ in Japanese, but hō tsujite could mean something like "by cheek" if the word order is right. However, I believe that in the context of the dream that it was meant to be a name and that the vowels were supposed to all be short (I remember thinking to myself "this is probably an old Japanese name, because it doesn't have any long vowels").

Somewhere in my dream, Tjark, our former German exchange student, wrote me on Facebook and said "people who don't speak their native language are stupid" or something, I don't know how it went, it might have been the otherway around. Anyways, somehow he brought up examples of people and Linguoboy and Finlay were among them. I remember then writing on the floor several times "Linguoboy speaks Irish and German" and "Finlay speaks some French." What a weird dream.

At first I was a White Wizard, like Gandalf. I had somehow got out from Middle Earth into seventeenth century France, and I was camping out in the woods in a stolen sleeping bag. Something (I don't know what it was) came and woke me up and told me there were some Men with guns coming to find me, so I got ready to run. Then they arrived suddenly, and I froze still inside the sleeping bag, hoping they wouldn't see me. Unfortunately, one of them did, and they all started shooting me. It didn't hurt, and it took a long time (especially since I was using my pillow as a shield), but it still killed me.

I woke up, then fell asleep again, and this time I was in some grotty Yorkshire town, with my sisters, looking for somewhere to get my hair cut. We went to one place, but the woman was too busy, and told us to go downstairs to the next hairdresser's. We went next-door instead, and found ourselves in the living room of my godmother's cottage, except it was owned by an old Catholic couple. We made conversation, but I kept saying things that offended them by mistake. Then for some reason, we needed candles, and the only ones we could find were ones we couldn't use because they were for Shabbat (WTF). My youngest sister went upstairs, got some candles, and then there was a loud bang - the house exploded, and I woke up again.

(When I got out of bed, I saw that the noise had been made by a pile of folders and classwork falling to the floor off my desk.)

I had two really weird, but thematically related, dreams last night. Let's see what Freud makes of these!

1. I and my beloved were due to go on holiday, but for some reason she couldn't make it, so I went by myself. I ended up in Llanelli in Wales, and for some reason couldn't find the exit to the toilets. Eventually someone showed me to a large pair of double doors, and I went into a touristy shop which sold small 3x3x3 and 4x4x4 Rubik's Cube keyrings. Then I looked for the tourist info building to arrange somewhere to stay, but couldn't find it.

2. I and my beloved were getting ready to go home after our holiday. We'd been given an ornamental wheelie-bin and a fridge for our apartment, which we had to return, so I checked the fridge to make sure it was empty. It turned out to be full of bread, including finger rolls and sliced loaves, which we'd bought and forgotten to eat.

I was terrified, because I was signing up for next year's required history electives and all of them were taught by my current history teacher.

We're having a big windstorm as part of the same storm that's hitting Minnesota, but we're not getting now. However, I woke up from a nap where I was dreaming I was trying to drive from Tulsa to Oklahoma city in this big 60s car and the Turner Turnpike was completely whited out, and bridges were collapsing into rivers.

Freud would probably interpret that dream in terms of emasculation, and you seem to be a bit non-chalant about it, willing to reason it in some way.

Have you recently decided to or thought of letting go your preconceptions of masculinity or sexuality?
Not really. A couple of things, though:

- A bi guy has been trying to chat me up lately (not a ZBBer, even!)
- I'm now in a serious relationship (with a young lady) and it's an opportunity to, how to put this delicately, explore new activities.

Either of those sound like likely causes?

I had this horrible dream where I dreamt some people (like a gang) firebombed my old (town)house in Toronto and all that was left was the top floor, and so many people were standing around gawking but I couldn't get anyone to store some stuff with them so that when the firebombers came back to finish the job it wouldn't be destroyed. Then there was this short brass witch who claimed to be behind the whole thing. I tried to push her off the ledge, but she was too strong, or too magic, to do so, and she could hang on by one claw and grip the ledge with huge force. So I came to the conclusion that I had to be her servant.

I guess your dream is the traditional masculine fear where monogamy = damage to the penis.
