There was a giant hedge maze made of dead dry bushes, dense enough that you could walk around on top of them. There were children crawling around inside the hedge, periodically popping out to make fun of me because I was too big to climb down inside. A couple of them I recognised as kids I hung out with in real life when I was much younger, but they hadn't grown up and I had. Anyway the reason I was running around up there was because I was trying to find a way down, but the hedge walls were like twenty feet high so I was stuck. Meanwhile, a group of people were driving around the maze in a black car that looked kinda like the bulletproof ones they use for world leaders etc. They would stop every now and then and try to shoot me with tranquiliser darts because they wanted to capture me. They were Koreans and I somehow figured out that they were part of some weird separatist movement that wanted to build some new utopian third Korea out on a huge manmade island in the Pacific. This involved kidnapping me for some reason. I woke up before finding out why.

Your subconscious was trying to tell you that your dream is impossible, because Ofra Haza has 死亡ed?

I had a dream with those symbols before!

It appeared on a notebook, with the furigana デス written above it.

Death in Freudian (or is it Jungian?) interpretations indicate a change, a closing of a part of your life.

Yeah, I know. It's just a lame attempt at understanding WTF dreams are for...

I am usually on the side of "dreams are for working out problems subconsciously"... but then, I'm not entirely sure that the subconscious is a separate entity from the conscious mind. Even more so after being a regular hypnotic subject.

I had just been born, and went walking around outside. There were three men speaking a Papuan language with Wɔk in the name. They didnt seem to very pleasant to talk to, since I couldnt speak Wɔk, so I went off to eat a meal consisting of carrots, strawberries, and tomatoes. I didnt like tomatoes so I didnt eat them. And one of my plates was filled up by the biggest strawberry in the world, about the size of a watermelon, and I didnt want that either (plus I felt it would probably taste watery) so I gave that to a friend as well.

I was in my old job, except now we were manufacturing mattresses instead of repairing laptops. At least one of the people in the dream was actually the person I had worked alongside before, but the staff seemed to have grown a lot larger overall.

We had heard that if there were more then 276 mattresses in the factory at one time, a fire might break out because of the lack of ventilation. Sure enough, as soon as we had finished our 277th mattress, one of them caught on fire. It was a small fire, easily put out, but it seems to have caused other fires to break out on other floors of the building (which were occupied by different businesses). Since we werent getting any more work done, some of the people clocked out and left, and I decided to follow them.

I had a dream in which I was on stage singing Futurism by Muse, and not doing too bad.

After getting the crowd really pumped, Matthew Bellamy walked onto the stage and tried to stop me. When I wouldn't stop singing, he pulled out a knife and stabbed me in the leg, which dropped me to the floor.

He did his patented falsetto into the microphone, and caused the stadium seats to fall into a chasm, killing most of the audience.

He walked off stage and left me there bleeding while watching the remaining audience try to crawl out of the destroyed stands.

And that was the end of the dream. :?

My family went to some place in Sweden (I think it was supposed to be Stockholm) on vacation for a month. All the colors there were really, really bright and everything was really pretty, but I was mostly upset because nobody had told me we were going on vacation and I left my computer and all my clothing at home, and I wanted my computer because I was in the middle of writing a post on my blog about South Eresian spatial and stative verbs. The hotel was really nice, except the room had a staircase to get in it, and all of the stairs were shaped like twisted ribbons and spun when you stepped on them wrong, so I was forced to hover up and down the stairs. While attempting to sneakily fly back to Minnesota to fetch my computer and come back (my family couldn't know about it for some reason), I was held hostage for several hours by a bus driver, while he madly drove around the city without picking any passengers up or even stopping at stoplights. Once I escaped, I gave up on getting my computer and founded a successful rock band there named Margin of Terror.

I had a dream where I was in an auditorium of some sort that was semicircular and had a raised stage in the sunken center, with rings of platforms that acted as seats rising up to the outside, and there were also blocks of some sort scattered about. There was a dragon of some sort somewhere, outside beyond the doors, probably, and it would occasionally shoot a fire blast into the auditorium, and I would have to hide behind one of the blocks to avoid it. There was also something else in the auditorium, that would also occasionally shoot off a slow moving fireball that was easier to avoid. I could also launch my own fireballs, but unlike the ones fired at me, mine could be tossed over an obstacle instead of just flying straight. I tried to hit whatever it is what was also inside the room with me, but because I was viewing this from a 3rd person perspective, and an odd one at that, the fireballs all ended up hitting the stage instead of my target.

Linguoboy appeared in my dream; I haven't got an idea why. He and I were studying Navajo verbs. A few minutes later, I start crying. He offers to switch to Saanich verbs; I refused. I ran away. Then I woke up.

I have checked out a book on Navajo verbs since then, and I assure you it does not make me cry as much as it did in my dream.

Linguoboy is my prophet, showing me the Verb, and I have not enough faith to accept his teachings. Shame on me.

Hail the Verb.

Somebody showed me a program someone Russian or Brazilian had written which ran on an Apple III (or was it a BBC Micro?) which emulated a ZX Spectrum - in 1982! It handled the attribute problems by limiting the screen to four colours, or something, but it was pretty nifty.

NINJA CAT!

Post by linguoboy »

I dreamt that my sister and I had just entered a dungeon-like room (e.g. walls of large rough grey stone blocks) when she called out, "NINJA CAT!" I turned to see a small black cat--a kitten, really--flying in through an opening. He looked something like Chococat with ninja swords. I dove after him, which precipitated a wire-fu chase around the walls of the room. Finally, I ended up pinning him down with my foot, but when I tried to seize him with my bare hands, he turned on me with his dagger-sized swords. I got stabbed through the palm but managed to wrest them away from him and then use them to put his head in a lock.

I carried him out the doorway to find myself at the top of a short broad staircase overlooking a sort of early Meiji marketplace. An old woman I recognised as my former nemesis (a ninja herself and the cat's master) approached us, so I beheaded her little servitor in front of her, flinging the head at her feet. The body I tossed off to one side, where it plopped into a cooking pot over an open fire.

"I sent him to give you my sticks," she told me. I recognised "sticks" as a ninja euphemism for "swords" and this as a traditional gesture of capitulation.

Suspecting another of her old tricks, I met this with bitter sarcasm. But the expression on her face--and, more importantly, the faces of the crowd who had turned to watch us--told me that she was telling the truth and I had just shamed myself with my cruel and cynical response.

I dreamt a transexual taught me how to suck my own penis. It wasn't really fun. Then there was something about puppies, but I don't very much remember.

I had a dream last night about my plan to move to Seattle in which I hit on a possible alternative to my attempts to find a job. I really don't remember much else about the dream, though, other than that I was laying on my bed thinking about stuff I would have to pack or something.

Still sounds like an interesting dream.

I used to be able to reach, but now I can't. From what I remember, it was overrated, because when I came I was all bent over and it gave me cramps. xD
