I have long held an irrational and somewhat over-the-top loathing for the word "healthful." I hate that word so fucking much, I kind of want to strangle the speaker whenever I hear it.

I'm jumping on the "rural" hatewagon - IMI it always seems to turn into something like [r\:::5:] (where r\ is some kind of postvelar bunched monstrosity), and I feel kind of like I'm gagging on a marble.

I thought about that too, but I can't hate it when I love the way the BBC says it (and other words with /@rl/).
It's (broadly) [faɪ.ˈjuw.lɛ]

I've always hated the word "curb", I just don't like it at all. I also have a strong dislike of "spigot"......

I also agree that the word Rural is hellspawn.... :x

Aye, aye; I hate those words too.

I also hate pus and smegma, because those words sound just as disgusting as the things they represent. *shiver*

In Slovene, I hate okusen /O"kus@n/ 'tasty' and vlažen /"wlaZ@n/ 'moist' (huh) with all my heart. Don't have any strong feelings about words in English, though.

(I'm indicating pronunciation for the non-Germanophones)

Now that you're saying it, yeah. Other than that I don't have strong feelings about English words.

I've only ever seen it used in a school health textbook, and never heard it. It's really just a shit-useless term - I think my reaction to someone saying it would be the same as yours.
Curb and spigot are cool, pus is just awful, and smegma is another one of those words I just find funny.
I really don't like the words penis and vagina. I rather like phallus and vulva tho.
The kids round here love the word "creeper". It means roughly the same thing as creep, but is used to its exclusion and is far more annoying. Just a horrible word.

I got that much, but why would anyone attach a diminutive to 'Tschüss'?

/hajuS/ and /bajuS/ in Hebrew, as dumb-teenage-girl equivalents of 'hi' and 'bye'. Yuck.

Nope, that's shanking.

Concur with "rural", also "rare," "registrar," and in general /rVr/. For me, /lVl/ also isn't very pleasant, largely because of my dialectal (idiolectal?) propensity to velarize /l/ in all positions. There is a reason that Mebharan and most of my other conlangs have a euphony rule to bar /lVl/ and /rVr/ sequences, even though their l's are typically light and their r's are typically [ɾ] or [r] rather than the [ɹ̡̫̪̏ˡʰʳʷˠˤ] or whatever the heck the English r is.

My /r/ seems to be absent of coronal articulation at all, in fact it seems to be some horribly mangled non-syllabic vowel. There's so much going on that I really couldn't tell you what it actually is, so usually I just write it as a labialized uvular approximant.

Yeah, polyp is pretty, except the medical meaning is disgusting. This reminds me of one Finnish word for jellyfish, meduusa, which I like the sound of.

Gnadenlos is both hässlich and wunderbar.
English lacks a word as awesome as "gnadenlos" or any gnV- initial for that matter

My favourite German-ish initial cluster is probably gʃCr-, though. Just rolls back and forth through your mouth.

Not in Standard German, no, but in fast speech, I know people - including me - who have [ˈgʃpʁɔχɴ̩] for /geˈʃprɔχən/, for example.

I don't hate the word schlong [SlAN], but it’s an awfully ridiculous-sounding word.
