I've been listening to the last two, and will try Hjálmar, but Sigur Rós creeped the shit out of me ;,,;Skomakar'n wrote:Jónsi himself (singer of Sigur Rós) has solo albums too. You could look at those.Wattmann wrote:How the heck did I miss that...Astraios wrote:Start with Sigur Rós.
Thx, Astraios, you've a +1 in my book.
Á móti sól! Lots of nice tracks by them on Spotify. Not that many on YouTube, but you could listen to Keyrðu mig heim to see if you like their style (although they're a little varied, so not everything sounds exactly like that [or revolves around alcohol, haha]).
If you're in for something a bit more cheesy, there's stuff like Í svörtum fötum, or Sálin hans Jóns míns.
I liked Iceland's song for Eurovision last year; Aftur heim, either by Sjonni Brink or Sjonni's Friends or whatever the name became in the end.
If you like reggae, there's Hjálmar.
For some slight screaming mixed with some mellowness, there's Sólstafir. For folk metal, you've got Skálmöld.
I will most certainly go over the rest, if I can get my handy to play anything other than Skálmöld and Dimmu Borgir...
