I thought you were talking about an butthole.Whimemsz wrote:The "fluids" part is not an important part of the definition in this case; in this context it just means "a barrier that is easy to move through", i.e.: "[the metaphorical barrier represented by] a gay friendzone is easy to move/break through"
If I stop posting out of the blue it probably is because my computer and the board won't cooperate and let me log in.!

Re: Love Thread
Thanks! its agreeable to apply the alliterative arts at such an appreciative audience.
I've been getting some alliterative tendencies lately, I've likely been reading too much poetry in English.
come to think of it, Alliteration isn't really a thing is spanish... I mean we know what it is, those of us who know how to read and write anyway, but I don't think its too much of a part of our poetics.

Re: Love Thread
Not much really after the decadence of modernism, Ruben Darío had a thing with sounds. (Maybe vanguardias played with it afterwards - and maybe some weird modern poems do it too, who knows).Torco wrote:, but I don't think its too much of a part of our poetics.
"¡Mi poesía obedece al divino imperio de la música!"
Re: Love Thread
meh, I don't think alliteration would sound greatly poetic in spanish anyway...

cargando sus culpas por el camino
caminaron con candor
sin cejar persiguieron su sino
nah, kinda bawring

Re: Love Thread
? Of course it would xD, and it has. It depends on how well it's written (it's just a recurso, it can't be good or bad sounding by itself, there are many things at play), let me quote Ruben Darío:Torco wrote:meh, I don't think alliteration would sound greatly poetic in spanish anyway...

¡Amoroso pájaro que trinos exhala
Bajo el ala a veces ocultando el pico;
Que desdenes rudos lanza bajo el ala,
Bajo el ala aleve del leve abanico!
If anything sounds more stereotypically ""poetic"" than modernismo please tell me XD. But anyways, ¡Retorzamos el cuello al cisne de engañoso plumaje!.
It's clearly not omnipresent (since our poetry has been obsessed with rhyme and stuff most of the time), but hardly absent. I remember when I studied older literature that writers as back as Garcilaso employed it form time to time.
Re: Love Thread
hey, no fair! you can't quote ruben darío after I post a random, ad-hoc poem... ye basterd!
but is alliteration alliteration if the repeated sounds are all in the middle ?

I guess it is. Read it out loud and you'll see why it's called that way.Torco wrote:but is alliteration alliteration if the repeated sounds are all in the middle ?

Holy shit somebody contact God, life has far too many bugs in its current release - I could not have imagined how much someone could have ruined me in just 30 minutes time.

Re: Love Thread
The girl I once loved. Barging into my date with the first non-retard girl I landed a date with. And freaking her out. By making out with me, in front of her. And whispering Loudly Enough certain things for me/everyone to hear.Eandil wrote:Who and how?Elector Dark wrote:Holy shit somebody contact God, life has far too many bugs in its current release - I could not have imagined how much someone could have ruined me in just 30 minutes time.
And in the end, I've been heavily screwed over.
You know what, from now on, I'll never be honest with anyone again. Trusting people takes far too much and gives far too little.
Edit: At least my aunt bribed me with a thousand roubles to stop hitting stuff.

oh, don't be a pussy. the chick is obviously crazy, and the other chick probably freaked out because you played along to the crazy chick. you're acting like a gut who gets run over by a car and vows not to walk, ever again.

Yes, there is a difference between "making out" and "trying to make out (and failing)".
It was about time I changed this.

In the meanwhile, I found a book with your name on it (Чича Торцо FTW! Can someone who actually speaks decent Russian confirm what this means?), and I'll show you a pic of it too, when I find it.
I'm probably overreacting, sure, but it was damn retarded.
When someone barges in into a cafe, and in two seconds lands on your lips, you'd be a bit slow to get what happened, too, I believe.Eandil wrote:Why did you let her??Elector Dark wrote:By making out with me, in front of her.

Re: Love Thread
I'd react as a cat in that situation, if you know what I mean. Like, my reflexes would make me do something, whatever, punch her, break something in the table, out of surprise; anything but staying there quietly dragged along. God, I've even hurt my sister from surprise hugs xD. But that's me.Elector Dark wrote:When someone barges in into a cafe, and in two seconds lands on your lips, you'd be a bit slow to get what happened, too, I believe.
I'm sorry, though. If the other girl can't understand what happened or doesn't want to, well, then she's unworthy to begin with.

Re: Love Thread
The entire thing lasted for just over a minute (note, the rest 28.5 minutes weren't after that, but before)
I'm a rather calm person anyway.
Though, it's hard to get someone to understand how your date gets assaulted by his former girlfriend, gets kissed in a public place, was rubbed on, and then screamed at.
Fuck I should just come back home and leave this bullshit behind.

Re: Love Thread
Can I just say, this thread has made me feel better about my love life than anything in a while.
Here's brandrinn's two step guide to not sucking at life:
1) go on OKcupid
2) pick a girl
2a) date her
Meeting people in real life is great, but if that doesn't work, go online. I've gotten more tail that way than I have at parties.

Re: Love Thread
Ok, so, I've got a friend. He's probably my best friend, but now I'm crushing on him. Badly. Anybody got any advice? Should I just move on and be friends? Or should I tell him?
