Yes, of course Spanish is behind (languages influence each other), but that's what is happening. I bet the percentage of Valencian teens who geminate is quite low (these teens nowadays...).

What do you think is the best root for "heat; hot"?

fany– [faɲ]
fag– [faʒ]
fasy– [faʃ]

Clearly fasy- It sounds almost like ascending steam, pure phlogiston at work, you're a genius.

A gënies? I knoe. XD

Truth be told, I'm using all three as different roots with similar meanings. All come from Sate PHAG–, which gave:

Nominal root: PHAGNE– » Hellesan fany
Verbal root: PHAGSU– » Hellesan fasy
Adjectival root: PHAG??– » Hellesan ???

I think fany. Even though fricatives feel firey, the other two have too many fricatives. The nasal adds a sweltering feeling.

It's aew CLEARLY.

@Qwynegold: cu sounds sharp as hell; maybe mbu doesn't scream "rain" but it's the superior option of the two.

I know I don't even get a vote on that, but... please don't use ['faʒɔ] or ['faʒæ] to pronounce fage. They seems odd-ish!
['faʒə] with an allophone of ['fad͡ʒe] looks/sounds purrrfect!

You can start exterminating all natural languages* that have features and traits as "weird" as those above.
Then we'll talk about conlangs.

*You can begin, for example, with Occitan (Occitània [utsi'tanjɔ], carrièra [karj'ɛɾɔ], lenga ['leŋgɔ]...) and carry on with Catalan (mare ['maɾæ], torna ['toɾnæ]...)

Actually you have my blessings for that because it's coherent and cool that a phonotactically Catalan language has such variants that remind of Occitan and dialects etc.

Since Peran was ~Latin, you could some day develop a ~Spanish and a ~Italian for fun (~French!)! What would it be like, is it possible (that is, is Peran Latinish enough)? Fañe xD.

Actually there are only two living descendants of Peran: Hellean and Tassalean. As you know, Hellesan phonology is based on that of Occitano-Romance; as for Tassalean I still need to develop in deep the language, but I have in mind an approach to Italian, specially Northern Italian (Piedmontese, Emiliano-Romagnolo, Lombard...), and maybe a bit of Arpitan and alpine Occitan (Vivaro-Alpine, Niçard).

Let's try this:

I'm thinking of giving Pazmat words for "boy" and "girl" that aren't connected to the words for "man" and "woman".

Now, for "girl", should I go with Crsi [kɻ̩si], or stick with Gjmcba [dʑm̩kbɑ] (literally just the word for "woman" with a diminutive)

As for "boy", should I go for Wurf [wuɻf] or stick with Qixba [qiʀbɑ] (which is "man" with a diminutive)?

Hmmm, my ears tell me that both Crsi and Wurf doesn't sound bad, but that Gjmcba and Qixba have more 'entity', but is also true that to add variety to the language I would prefer to retain the diminutives as diminutives, and use single forms for "boy" and "girl".

No offense, but I have to disagree here; I wouldn't call a boy like what could be an onomatopoeia for puking.

It's all about feelings, preferences and subjectivism, so why get offended?

Interesting. [kɻ̩si] doesn't sound onomatopoeically puke-ish to me.

It's closer to cursi than any other word I know IMO. XD

And how about [wuɻf]? Does that sound puke-ish at all?

Incidentally, by Zukish standards [dʑm̩kbɑ] and [qiʀbɑ] sound better... if you ignore the lack of uvulars in Zukish, that is.

Zukish words referring to girls typically begin with [ʤ], and those referring to boys typically begin with [g].

I fail to see how <Wurf> sounds like puking. I personally love the sound of the word, and onomatopoeia varies between cultures/langs (The Pazmat onomatopoeia for puking is Xrx anyway).
