Once someone complained that we all said the same over here. Maybe he'll now complain again.

Okay! I confess! It was me!
I generally forget to say, so if it's relevant and I don't mention it--I'm from Southern Michigan and speak Inland North American English. Yes, I have the Northern Cities Vowel Shift; no, I don't have the cot-caught merger; and it is called pop.

Ye, ova di pwoblem a it in me, de Sajiwan, man tok se "Was it me?". So mi mos parafres. Cu man me tok se "It ja mi?" o "A mi it ja?", ova dis swel me ondastan "Was I there?". Gut odatok oldataym won mek parafres.
Yes, but the problem is that it's not possible, in Sajiwan, to say "Was it me?". So I had to paraphrase. Of course one can say "It ja mi?" or "A mi it ja?", but that could also mean "Was I there?". Good translation often needs paraphrasing.

Mine actually says "did I write say?" but that would sound silly in English. First rule of good translation is that you shouldn't always translate word-for-word.

Rom i koko! Ova wen mi tok se "A mi di tok dis", olmos tokl sem fi "did I say", yu tok "yu...", an Dē Graut Bʉr plen yu tok "yu..." kos mi tok "did I say that" steda "was it me". Dis taym mi a konfon! Mi go les odatok "Was it me?", ova wen sem taym ray Sajiwan sem "did I say that"? Dis ja yu won it?
Exactly*! But when I said "A mi di tok dis", almost totally the same as your "dis I say", you said "you...", and DGB explained you said "you..." because I said "did I say that" instead of "was it me". I'm confused now. Should I have translated [from Sajiwan in English] "Was it me?", but at the same time have written the Sajiwan equivalent of "did I say that"? Is that what you wanted?

*"Rom i kok" means "rum and coconut [juice]", which refers to "koko rom", Sajiwan's national drink. The full expression is "Dis a twu sem rom i koko!", "that's true like rum and coconut juice".

If you had done so there might have been less complaints. On the other hand, being able to complain is important and you made it possible for us to do so, so what you did maybe wasn't that bad. And it adds "saying differences"*, whose absence was once complained about.

*Zeggingsgillighyts turned out to be awfully hard to translate.

No, zipu means plural you. Maybe that time it was a bad translation. I kind of missed what he meant by that, it was more meant to be don't y'all go making fun of me now, or so, but I haven't had easy access to my dictionary recently so I've been just using the few words I remember.
